I have had nothing but issues with my 2021 mach e premium! I have owned it for 2.5 weeks and it has spent 10 days at the dealership. The most recent problem being the instrument cluster is black and will not work-this is not the large entertainment screen, but the smaller screen that shows speedo etc.
Has anyone else had this issue? Apparently the tech worked on my car yesterday for a full day, was able to install a PCM update, but can not figure out why that screen isn't working. They have emailed the ford engineers and are waiting to hear back. Any thoughts would be appreciated, not feeling very confident in my local Ford dealership right now!

Wow, sorry to hear that. That's first time I've ever heard of anyone with that particular issue.
Don't worry, once the Ford engineers are on the job, it gets resolved. It sucks that you've been going through some teething issues, but I promise it'll be straightened out eventually.

That might be a bad component - it happens in all cars. They'll probably replace the screen or the connector.

One of the pre-production cars on the Mach-E tour had that happen. I'm not 100% sure what they did to fix it. The tour guides said they had to do a reset. I don't know if they mean they just did a reboot of SYNC or a factory reset of the entire system.

on the brighter side, hopefully the replacement screen will have newer components and not have any buzzing issue (mine's been fine but i know some others have had issues)

I was there and talked to the Ford people at 3 of the stops. The first two times I saw the Mach-E on the tour, the screen was black. The third time, it was working.

forgive me, but you are talking about the smaller instrument cluster not the large entertainment screen correct? When you said SYNC THAG MADE ME THINK THR LARGER SCREEN.
the one Iam talking about is the smaller screen thag shows the Speedo, battery life etc above the steering wheel!

Yep, the drivers console screen was black. The car is pretty interconnected so it may help to do a SYNC reboot. It's at least worth a try. Press and hold both the volume/power and right seek button for 10 seconds and the system will reboot.

Thanks! Sorry for the weird caps and spelling errors in my previous reply LOL not sure what happened there. The dealership says they can not do anything to the car without being instructed by Ford Engineers. The problem is, the engineers take over 24 hours to return emails with another trouble shooting idea....I bought it on the 6th of March, and it has put itself into deep sleep mode with all batteries at 100 percent charge, and now this. I looked today when I was at the car dealership and it was built in October 2020. Any insight on build dates etc and issues? I am not familiar with build dates for cars that were for sale and not test model cars, but I thought I had heard they started in October?!

No worries. My wife does the same thing to me a lot. At work, they have to label a lot of stuff in all caps. She will them slip into ALL CAPS with me at random. ?

Wow, I thought they started in November. I know the "deep sleep" issue affected some of the builds built before January. Ford has actually been pretty vague on the whole issue. It sounds like your screen issue might be a be more complicated than I had imagined. I guess the best you can do is keep pestering the dealership. You might be able to get attention on social media like Twitter, but hopefully the dealership will be a strong advocate for you and make up for your loss of use of the vehicle for so long.

Update: Ford engineers have come to the conclusion that they are 85% sure it is the Body Control Module. Apparently, there are 5 other Mach Es so far that have had this issue, I am number 6!
Stay tuned....

3 weeks and no sign of a new BCM as Ford has them on “back order”
No one knows where they are even coming from!!! I’ve owned the car for 8 weeks and have driven it 8 days!

Iam in Canada and there are a lot of hoops to jump through to use a “lemon”law as we technically do not have one.
apparently the part will be in the USA mid to late May and then it has to get to Canada! I’m so disappointed and I don’t even want the car anymore!
