Doesn’t really seem any more accurate.

If anything it’s still reading really low.

This morning it dropped 30 miles and said “range adjusted due to outside temp.” I was in the garage in the morning and it’s low 80s outside.

I also tried resetting my driving history a week ago to see if that would help. Then I also took some longer drives (averaging 2.6 mi/kWh) and my GOM still stayed low.

When I reset the driving history, I went to 240 miles at full charge. After driving less than 30 seconds…… it dropped to 180.

Something else is definitely going on if it’s not using your driving history to give range estimates…..
I have this, I do the same 2hr, mostly highway drive quite often, I think it calibrates based on factors like speed tolerence, so I had that set to 7mph over, and Maine is 70mph speed limit, so the car assumes I will be driving 77 the whole way and lowers its estimate. Last weekend, I ended up driving 70 most of the way and found myself going much further than predicted.

Mine's dropped 20-30 miles several times (without using nav). Based on recent driving and long-term, I'm averaging around 3.3-3.5 mpkw (so 224-238 miles @ 100%). I see something in that range immediatly after charging (to 90%), but shortly starting a drive, it drops 20-30 miles (so down to around 200 miles @ 100%, 3.0mpkw).

Last week, with about 80% charge, I left work, before I made it out of the parking lot, it dropped the range by about 25 miles. I started nav for the trip home (to avoid construction traffic), and about 3 miles later, it upped the range by 25 miles. Then the next day it dropped it by 25 in the morning. Temps are all 70-90F, nothing excessive.

It seems no matter how I drive, it keeps the GOM at about 3.0mpkw, despite what the trip averages tell me.

I understand that part.

But today, in mild weather, it recalibrated super low before I even put it in reverse to back out of the garage.

And when I reset driving history a week ago, it recalibrated super low (dropped 70 miles of range) less than 30 seconds after pulling out of my driveway. Also in mild weather.

158 miles at 90% charge for a GTPE during the summer just doesn’t seem right. Especially for my almost exclusively city driving. It doesn’t add up to my mi/kWh logs.

Hadn't heard of this feature until just now but the results are hilarious. I decided to check whether I was enrolled in EA like I assumed I was but looks like it is per vehicle, not the person on the account. So I had to join the waitlist for the MME.

Ford Mustang Mach-E Intelligent Range now being enabled on Early Access Program Mach-E 1662496405389

Anyway seeing these reports I would not enroll my wife's car in it because it might freak her out. In our MME (ER RWD) the GOM miles is generally %SOC x 3 so I could always compare to that in my head but she's not going to be doing that. I'll just monitor this thread as entertainment and get updates.

I opted out last week and, did multiple ev driving data resets and it still just chops off 50-60 miles for who knows why. It calculates to about 150miles at 100% awd sr averaging 3.3 or better.
I don't like it.

I suggest you all write to the EAP team and let them know. Talking about it on the forum is good and all, but we all need to let them know it's wrong so it will get fixed.

I've emailed them about it already and everyone here should as well.

My observation on long drives is the following:

I've had up to 50mi reduced range. It eventually all comes back to the GOM. For example, if it goes from 240 down to 190 I'll get the 240 as my actual range. It's just comically wrong to start with.

If you enrolled in EAP you should be doing your part by reporting the discrepancies to them. It's a beta program, not a get ahead of the line program.

I opted out of this a couple of months ago, but still see the ~50 mile reduction, and other than recently it’s usually 70-80 degrees here in San Diego so weather should not be impacting range that much. I tried calling Ford support to get the Intelligent Range experiment removed from my car, but that went nowhere after talking to 3 different people. My ~15 mile commute (each way) averages over 4.1 on the way to work, and 3.3 on the way home.

I charge to 90% and when I start my car it drops like 30 miles due to temperature. It's like mid-70s too ?

How do we contact them? I enrolled a while back but don’t remember where and if there is a feedback form or something.

Last I heard opt-out is not working. If you are in EAP you get all EAP programs by default. You would have to be removed from the program entirely to opt out.

I've emailed them about it, they say it's working on their end, and they stop replying when I say it's off on my end still.

It started working suddenly while doing recall updates, but then broke again after getting 3.x updates. Something in the car needs to be reset before it will work right.

Note: they did say the range will not adjust until there is a large enough difference compared to current conditions. There is some kind of % change threshold before it will update.

Haha - yeah it works alright! Just doesn't work correctly. Like many other's posting here I get the largest drop in range when it's prime conditions for optimal range. It's completely backwards. If I lost 50 miles when it's 88F out, this winter I'll probably lose 150 miles ?

At least we don't actually lose them, it's just an erroneous reading.

I'll email today, but I also just logged into the early access site, and there is a survey available. I haven't checked in a while, but I don't think it was there the last time I looked.

In regards to providing feedback, I've only noticed the popup in the last few weeks, and it auto-dismisses very quickly, so it's possible I missed it before this (which I mentioned in the survey). It only appears to happen once per charge (normally), and I only charge about once a week right now. So for me, at least, it's been difficult to tell if it's the Intelligent Range or just the car updating naturally.

Now that I've seen it a few times, I suspect it may have been happening all along.

So I got the OTA update PU 727 yesterday and my range today seems a bit more realistic (189 miles at 82%). A few days ago it showed 158 miles at 90%.

I didn’t charge since the update but it’s 40-50 miles more than it was showing before the update. And temperature outside is identical.

Maybe they tweaked the weather calculation?

Update:

I actually got an email response from the EA team:

Thank you for reaching out to us. Your feedback is very valuable to us.

Out team investigated and it appears there was a data issue with the driver behavior data. Our team has gone ahead and corrected the learning and your range should now be more accurate.

We appreciate you sharing your feedback and please continue to do so in case you encounter any further issues.

Thanks You!
