iOS18 FordPass Battery Drain

Never thought much about FordPass running in the background for Paak, but since iOS18 FordPass crushes my battery while sleeping.
I have Sleep Focus set to turn on around bedtime, and it sets the phone to Low Power Mode. I went to bed last night with the battery > 90% and woke up to < 40%.

The main culprit being FordPass.

I’m on an iPhone 13 Pro Max. Hopefully this bug gets fixed quickly and PSA to others in the meantime!

Interesting. There are quite a few threads here about iOS 18 and your’e the first to have this battery drain issue, at least that I’ve seen. Did this issue just show up or have you had it awhile?.

I wasn’t in the public betas so I’ve only had it for 2 nights. I’ll try again tonight and report back.

Sounds good. You can also try a hard restart which usually fixes most issues. ?

My guess is you’re near your vehicle. I doubt it’s tied to iOS 18

Unlikely he happened to change where he sleeps the same night he installed iOS18

Yeah that's correct. The car is in the garage 2 stories below my bed. I'll try again tonight and report back. Could've just been the phone getting hung up. I left my phone on the charger last night and forgot to unplug it before I fell asleep.

I have the same experience. Nothing has changed with my routine, but seeing drastically more battery drain with FordPass than pre iOS 18.

I just looked and sure enough background battery usage has increased since install8ng iOS 18 on Monday.

Yep, mine is 2nd highest usage as well over the last 10 days. 13%

Out of curiosity I looked at my iPhone battery usage. I installed iOS a couple of days ago. My night battery drain is fairly low. The graph is so small it looks nearly flat, although it’s not. Maybe a 5 to 10% drop. Interestingly, fordpass doesn’t even register on my app % battery usage chart! What is a hog is car scanner at 26%! I’ve gotten a little obsessive about looking at the car’s batteries on car scanner and what they’re up to when I’m driving. Probably a good idea to give that a rest.

I wonder if it’s possible if Bluetooth is left on, that the phone and Fordpass are somehow connected or “talking to each other “ in the middle of the night?

Mine is a 15 pro, moved from 12s a few months ago.

Mine was just delivered (16 Pro) but I'm out of town until Monday. ?
As of right now, in the last 24 hours my Ford Pass app is at 1% and the last 10 days 6% so still no issues here. This is with a 15 Pro.

My XIII Pro shows 9% in the last 24 hours and 7% in the last 10 days. Not out of whack for lifetime. ??
