BC1.4 is what Ford’s Department of Nomenclature calls a 6-month delayed BC1.3. By the time it makes it to us next summer, it’ll be BC1.5. Same shit. 6 months late.
Screw it, we go straight to 2.0! People always buy 2.0!

Ford management lease vehicles are de facto EAP on their own release ring, and I’d venture not all employees even know that.
I'd venture they're not thrilled about it either. This explains the '21 GTPE that was GM's car that was quiet a bit further in it's PU's than mine. (It's sitting on a lot now, and has been for months.)

Your grandmother had a GTPE? Nice! What did she replace it with?)

It was the GM’s car. (General manager at that dealership)

1.4 is awesome. It’s changes lanes just by thinking it. You can tell it via sync to go to a set speed ect. Amazing just amazing. Sucks you all don’t have it
I have it.
Surprised me with a Starbucks this morning.
Thank you 1.4!

They need to get to a point where once they decide a new release is ready, it rolls out over a couple weeks to everyone. Start with EA and give it a few weeks to ensure that group is not having issues. Then start slow (with a mix of all model years) and ramp up over a couple weeks.
I think that's about where Ford is at now. When the early tests have issues and you ram that into the holidays, rollouts get delayed.

Yeah, the messaging from up on high at Ford is…problematic. First we hear ( over a year ago) from Darren Palmer “we have been testing relaxing the power throttling on the GT/GTPE, and we are going to relax it, via OTA”. Then when the 24 GT models are being released, with relaxed throttling, Donna Dickson, Chief Engineer of the MME program, stated that there has been no testing of relaxing the throttling on the GT/GTPE from 21-23 model years, they were focused solely on the 24s, and there were no immediate plans to do so, but “maybe that will happen”. So, which is it? It can’t be both. Now Darren Palmer thinks that the roll out of BC 1.4 is happening, but there is no evidence of this!! Oh, yeah, and that’s over a year late, if it happened today, which it hasn’t. You can’t make this stuff up.

I wish I better understood why a 2021, 2022 Mach-E can have the actual BC 1.3 software stack installed onboard, but not be officially "enabled"?

Or put another way, if the car is 100% up to date on the updates available to the VIN (confirmed in PTS/FDRS), it is in fact running BC 1.3, but without the additional 2 features that 1.2+ added. (Lane Change and Lane Bias)

I get that the OTA delivery method itself presented some kind of obstacle, but the software itself is NOT being withheld from the cars. FDRS updating isn't a hack.

Whatever the REAL issue is behind the veil, I'd love to hear. So far everything I've seen is just conjecture.

What even is 1.4 supposed to be?

My car shipped with 1.3 and has lane change and lane bias.

Nothing feature obvious.
But is just more mature code?
Just like 1.3 being more stable than 1.2

My Powerboost is supposedly on 1.4, but no way of knowing based on visual evidence. Although I personally like the less aggressive lane change in the Mach-E, my truck feeeeels like it's more consistent and stable.
