I am getting my MME towed tomorrow. My 12 v battery is completely dead with just 19 miles on the car. When I try to jump start the battery the car will not allow me to put it in tow mode. The system thinks I'm "moving" and has the towing option grayed out. The car is in the garage on top of that. I have the print out for towing instructions ready. I told Ford road side assistance to make sure they tell the towing company to bring the dolly to roll the car out of the garage and on to the flat bed. A shot out to the generous folks in the forum who have reached out to assist!
Glad we could help!

Didn't Op state it was while sitting, the MachE was Parked not driving? What safety concern? Maybe I missed something.
Anytime these cars are stranded, there is a safety concern. While it may not be a risk of a crash or collision, there are still concerns.

If this is an ongoing issue, I will get rid of the car and have my wife and children travel in a car that does not have this issue. For now, I have confidence in Ford that this will get resolved. I think Ford deserves the benefit of doubt to this point.

While it's true that we weren't on the side of a road, and therefore as "getting stranded" goes it could have been much worse, my kids and I were still stranded in an out-of-the-way parking lot surrounded by closed businesses. We had no where cool to go on a 103F temp day. I'm fortunate that I was able to call someone to pick up the kids while I waited for the tow truck.

Regarding Ford's official statement about the issue, implying that users' behaviors contribute to the problem, I've only DC fast-charged a handful of times and have never had a single "wide-open-pedal event" much less multiple times. Which is a shame since it sounds fun? But I have never even gotten close to "flooring" the accelerator. I'm a stay at home mom and mainly use Kestrel for boring kid-chauffeuring. LOL. I do like to accelerate briskly from stop lights when I'm first and it's safe to do so, but a slight but firm depression of the pedal is more than enough to amuse myself and get giggles from the back seat.

The only risk factor I can think of is that my car is a GT. I got the SSN message after a 15 minute drive through the Denver suburbs, not especially heavy traffic, a few stop lights, speed limits mostly between 25 and 45 mph. No hills to speak of or anything unusual, aside from it being hotter than normal for Colorado.

My dealer said they hope to have more info for me tomorrow. AFAIK, they haven't had a chance to get it into the service bay so far, but will be next in line.

I have called the Ford customer service number and opened my case officially.

I completely agree with you regarding "getting stranded". If any of you were in poor health, or had been without cell service, or it was freezing in the winter, or............

Of course it could be a safety issue.

Best of luck. Hopefully the dealership will be taking good care of Kestrel and nurse her (him?) back to good health soon.

My dealer just. told me this:

If you have not heard let me inform you as of now the Mach-e is on a stop sale for a safety recall. Until Ford releases this recall we cannot deliver your vehicle.
My Mach-e was built on 6/29 and has not reached Denver yet as far as I know. Can this "stop sale" be true?

There is a software fix for cars built before late May 2022. Cars Built after (roughly) May 25, 2022, don't need the fix as it was already updated when built. Not only is your dealer wrong, but they're also very wrong. Search the forums and check the recall sub-sections.

Speak to your dealer and at least ask them to run diagnostics so they can order parts. There was another poster somewhat in your shoes and the initial reaction from the dealer was that they could not get to it right away. The dealer then got back and stated they looked at the error codes and ordered a HVBJB. Good luck!
That is exactly what I was going to suggest. It makes no sense to do nothing for 3 weeks and then wait another 3 weeks for the part to arrive when a short period of time is needed to at least look at the codes for a quick diagnosis.

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles with your MME. Just to confirm... your MME is a 2021MY that has been in use since Dec 2021? (You are still waiting for the MME you ordered in Oct 2021?) Your MME did not have the recall software update? Had you not been notified June 2022 of the 22S41 "welding contactor" recall? If you did not have the "recall" software update installed, had you tried to schedule it?

I just got a message that my car is ready - it was a failure of the 12 V. Unfortunately I might not be able to pick it up until tomorrow.

(edited to add that this ended up being incorrect- the 12v battery failure was a misdiagnosis and I’m currently waiting on a replacement HVBJB)

Is there a thread for all the 12v issues? It appears to happen way more than HVBJB but the end result is exactly the same, stranded.

I thought the SSN message (what I got) happened most often with the HVBJB but I’m not an expert.
