Bad EVSE or bad J1772 handle on your Juicebox then. Guess you better buy a ChargePoint.
That will be my 4th Juicebox

other forum members with juicebox’s and other manufacturers were having the same problem as me though, I guess we all have bad j1772 or EVSE

Time for me to eat some crow. I brought my car down to Florida and charged up using my Autel, pictures of charging attached. The first time there were a few reverse Spikes to zero but basically all at 40 amps, 9.5 kw . Last night, it was steady 40 amps and 9.5 kw the entire time.

while using my Juicebox up north I had the yo-yo I’d charging at 40 amp and would fluctuate from 9.5-6.5 kw.

maybe it is related to certain EVSE’s

I guess you need another Autel. My Autel has been flawless.

I think you're beating a dead horse, suggest switching brands.

When they send you a new one, does it come with a new J1772 cable? Or have they been sending you just the main unit and you swap over the charging cable?

Was wondering how the yo yo translated to your charging slowing down by 33% and now we understand. As noted mine just drops and stays there for the complete charge. Did charge like a champ for 2.5 years and now after a software update charges like crap. I see it coming Ford will do nothing for us and start pointing at getting new chargers. Pretty sure like the others who have been fixed here the charging port is my problem and my temp is in between 80 and 105C. Been months since they screwed some of us and still no acknowledgement.

New everything

have thought about switching brands but a replacement is free. Trying to see if I beat the record for EVSE replacements. I mean @heisnuts had 4 or 5 HVBJB before he gave up.

After 4 replacements, I think you have a good case for them to just refund your money.

So I noticed the throttling before on my Juicebox 40 last month. Now when I plug in, it will throw a charge fault error within a minute and not charge at all. I have to lower it to 32 or under 8kW and it will charge in a smooth constant rate with no throttling. Anyone else having this issue?

I would not be sure to fault the JB without more data. I counted 7 different charger brands reporting problems earlier in this thread. Most started around the June timeframe. I just charged at 58 F in my garage and the plastic on the JB handle is cooler than my skin temp. I realize that is not the same as measuring my charge port temp. I got 60 min of charge time at 39.5 amps before the chg curve shows cycling between 9.55 kw and 7.1 kw. I don't have a code scanner so I don't know is the chg port pins temp so I need more data.

Right!!

BTW, my last charge with Autel was here in Florida with 90 degree temps and 90% humidity, garage was very warm and still charged straight line at 9.5

I did a quick charge (from 72% to 90%) right after I got the OTA 6.1 and I saw a level charge session. It might not have been on the charger longer enough so next week we'll see if this latest development holds true or not.

May be your charger will not step down mine steps down to 32 amp even thou set at 40 amp. Yours sounds like it will not. Mine also will not charge at 40 amp anymore.

Was it slower before? Was it slowed down by 25% (40 amp to 32 amp) or 33% (48 amp to 32 amp)? I got 5.1.1 this week. If yours was throttled and charging slower before 6.1 and now is back up keep us informed.

Have you tied a friend's charger that is working properly? Or maybe a public L2?

Ya my dealer has a ford wall mount if it had of worked there they would have rubbed my nose in it. What they did note is they are waiting for further direction from Ford on the problem. With a Ford we are to diagnose and fix our own vehicles?

Here is my charging behavior. At full 40A it seems it can’t negotiate and will throw a charge fault. I then manually change my charger to limit it to 35A (8kW) and it charges fine and smooth.
