Well the Select model in Canada is already sold out with the 2022 orders:

The Mustang Mach-E Select saw high demand in 2022 and as a result, all 2023 Mustang Mach-E Select vehicles were sold out (already in “end of production phase”) at launch. We continue to manage the bank of retail orders submitted before May 31, 2022 (see details below).

The Mustang Mach-E Select continues to see strong demand. While the Internet Dealer Ordering Tool (WBDO) is still accepting orders, we will focus on scheduling existing retail orders placed prior to the announcement of the "End of Production Phase" on May 31, 2022. At this time, any new retail order for a 2023 model year vehicle (that does not match a 2022 model year retail order) will not be supported by the allowance. These customers should be advised that they may have to wait for a future model year. Please submit retail orders for model year 2023 using the Customer Order Verification Process (CCPV) and in WBDO using the same customer name and order number as the order for the model year 2023. 2022 model year. Ford Canada does not intend to offer price protection or incentive protection on non-scheduled orders of model years 2022 and 2023. For certificate program information Ford 2022 transition plan, please refer to bulletin CIB-2022-21N.

The tax credit is just too massive of an amount for most people so yeah, if a car didn't have it vs. one that did, it's just not possible to make any math look as good now. There's no positive way to look at it and why before this new tax law, folks were starting to capitulate and just pay that $3-5k ADM knowing they lock it in and get a car now vs. an unknown price increase, known at least $3750 drop in tax credit, etc in early 2023.

The new tax law just made it a lot worst for a lot of EV makers not named Toyota (irrelevant in EVs), Tesla, GM, Ford (debatable if MME even qualifies with new law with that components piece).

Battery component prices have definitely gone up so it's not surprising that the extended range ones are marked up more percentage wise.

The other issue with this price increase is that current order holders won't cancel/abandon their orders now, leaving less inventory for even a $3k-$5k ADM. Also, with this price increase, those $3k-$5k ADM are a thing of the past. It wouldn't surprise me to see ADMs starting at $7,500 now for 2022 models.

See i actually thought the Korean cars drove better and loved the regen paddles over the Mach E's touchy brake and not smooth hand off to the friction brakes.

Yeah big battery Mach E is more but price wise non-comparable now, the Korean cars are just better value, especially with 800v being more of an advantage thread the range, plus a heatpump in winter. I was still gonna go with a Mach E because I didn't like the Ioniq interior design and was concerned about the EV6's smaller cargo and headroom (the glass roof and charger routing are great too). But that was really a decision of design preference, comparing specs the Korean cars are clear winners.

But like a previous poster stated, the Korean brands will not take an order for a car. Because you're not locked in a price, you're at their mercy in terms of ADMs.

I'm not sure which model comparison you're looking at but most are well above 10%.

My '21 Premium RWD Ext. Range was $52000 MSRP ($47k + $5k ext. battery). A '23 is $63,575 ($54975 + $8600 ext. battery). That's a 22% increase for a car with less features. Tack on a big question mark if the '23 will qualify for the FTC and you're looking at 43% price increase to the consumer at the end of the day. That's significant.

How are you getting at a 43% price increase? With your numbers, the '23 is $11,575 more than your '21. Add $7500 to $11,575 and that's $19,075. That's less than 40% of $52,000.

Edit: I just figured out how you arrived at 43%. You're right. It's 42.8% but 43% is close enough.
And also, it's actually a little more since there's an additional $200 destination charge in the '23 model.

So assuming my MY22 Select w/ Comfort & Tech gets converted on Monday, will I be able to upgrade to a premium so I don’t lose out on the comfort features? Specifically, without placing a new order and losing spot in line/locked in APR/ etc?

I asked my dealer rep and his team told them they can “try” changing it to a premium on the 30th.

Info shared elsewhere on this forum indicates that you will be privately offered a rebate by Ford, to be redeemed against the purchase of a 2023 model of your choosing. Assuming your 2022 does not get scheduled, you would enter a new order for 2023 and use the rebate to lower the price.

Honestly you should look at the Kia EV6 Wind AWD with tech package, plenty of features, fast charging, great range, etc, all for cheaper. Plus better warranty

I'm confused where this thing about Korean brands not taking an order comes from. I ordered a Sorento PHEV, it was just recently built and will arrive around mid-September. And I have a signed sales contract for the car at MSRP. I know other people - quite a few based on public information - that ordered EV6's and got them, also at MSRP. Unless there is some other context involved, as a blanket statement, that is just not true.

I don't know which ones are taking them today, I just know they were all taking them as recently as a few weeks ago. I ordered through Boucher Kia in Racine, WI, for example, though mine was a number of months ago.

Are you saying that Kia dealers stopped taking orders super-recently? Like, during the transition from 2022 to 2023, in the last week or two? That would maybe make sense, if that is what you meant, since the 2022's have stopped being produced and the 2023 details are just trickling in for Kia.
