I wouldn’t order any adapter until it’s confirmed to work. Tesla could easily make it a $200 paperweight.I got it too, jumped on it and ordered. Maybe it will help to chill out my wife for road trips! ?
TECHJEFF is a discount code that worked for me to save a little!I got it too, jumped on it and ordered. Maybe it will help to chill out my wife for road trips! ?
I don’t think it will work with L2. You can’t pack the smarts and switching required to redirect the power to the correct pins in a $200 adapter. It's also interesting that while the Ford deal opens 12,000 charging ports, this ad says 20,000... Guess they're including destination chargers?
Damn, it'd be nice to have one adapter that could do both.I don’t think it will work with L2. You can’t pack the smarts and switching required to redirect the power to the correct pins in a $200 adapter.
A TeslaTap Mini 80A is really compact. It fits in the bag with my Ford Mobile Charger. The only downside it that it costs as much and this Supercharger adapter.Damn, it'd be nice to have one adapter that could do both.
Very unusual text. States that cars which support NACS will be able to use the adapter, and mentions Ford by name. Ford has said it is committed to NACS and *will* support, but ... does support? Not sure about that, of course, can't be sure because there are no adapters yet.Got this email this morning from lectron about their NACS to CCS Adapter and being able to reserve it. From the email it mentions shipping begins in Jan 24 which is the first time I recall seeing anyone mention such a specific timing for the adapter or when other brands could use the SC network. Also the pricing doesn't sound too bad ($250 or $200 for pre-order) considering you get to expand into a reliable network.

NACS is just CCS in a different form factor, nothing more, nothing less, AKA SAE J3400Very unusual text. I think it's likely these adapters will work fine after Ford and Tesla do the integration so our MachE's are supported. However, a three month preorder doesn't seem sane.
Lectron seems a fairly reputable provider, but I'm gonna wait until I see at least one person use one adapter of some sort. And, I've got a bunch of FortPoints burning a hole in my pocket, will probably end up ordering from there....
Now? I’d say NOW we have zero choices.Sooooo for the NACS CCS adapters, we now have three choices
The Tesla chargers that support CCS are all 250kw, not sure where you got the info it was 160kw.Sooooo for the NACS CCS adapters, we now have three choices

- A2Z EV : reputable among the EV community, they did an interview with Tom Moloughney on YouTube, talked about safety, certifications and OEM interactions, which might be Tesla (or not). They have proven results 2 days ago on X. Pre-sales have not started as they seem to be waiting for an official approbation from Tesla, which makes sense.
- 152kW on a 160kW charger is incredible.

On the other hand we have Lectron, very well known, that is eager to start sales without any proven results or very little details. They seem to delete comments on their product page as well. No approbation, no certification, no real product besides 3D pictures. To me it seems they are skipping some steps here and if they don't get approved by Tesla, the adapter will be a good garage decoration,...
My gut says to trust A2Z EV, but then Lectron is taking preorders, I feel like I should wait at least for Tesla to open their superchargers or simply get an adapter from Ford. Safety is very concerning here, I don't think that Tesla will let any company use their network just like that without a ''background check''.
I will either wait for Ford or A2Z EV, which has been more than professional holding up the sales and making sure everything is safe and certified.

Bill, I have used the picture from their X account, it is not a supercharger but an NACS 160kW Chargepoint station...The Tesla chargers that support CCS are all 250kw, not sure where you got the info it was 160kw.
