Do not use the OHMMU battery. It is not compatible with the car’s BMS which expects a AGM chemistry. You will have major issues with modules shutting down. It doesn’t matter what settings you do on the battery side, that’s doesn’t change the chemistry and voltage curve characteristics.
Good to know. And after further research on these in various cars, people either love them or hate them. Nothing in between. And at $500, it's a risky experiment even with a 4 year warranty.

So just curious if anyone on the forum has tried these things. Apparently OHMMU thinks that the configuration selections in their app would enable their battery to emulate the chemistry and voltage characteristics of the AGM unit? Is this not possible if done correctly?
Interestingly, Amazon also sells the OHMMU battery for the MME and there is no feedback recorded.

I read up on the Lithium battery. I doubt the car would maintain its SOC correctly. I have converted my golf cart and my riding mower to Lithium batteries and they are "NOT" just drop in replacements. The chargers expect a certain type of battery and if you switch you will have nothing but trouble. Modifications must be made and no way to do that on the Mach E. I wish they would just put a Lithium in there to start with. I read somewhere that Tesla is going to start doing that.

I don't see how you can "just slide it out" without with the frunk tub in place. On both cars, I removed the frunk tub. I'd be surprised if it took me 10 minutes (probably have removed it at least 6 times or more for other projects/mods). I removed the battery on both cars prior to purchasing the new one so I could give the dealer the core and not have to go back.
I agree. You have to removed the Frunk and probably removing the support bar across the car would make it much easier.....only two bolts there. You could slide it out maybe in pieces......LOL

Nope....just remove the nut on the right side body support bar over the battery and loosen the other side and swing it towards the front of the car. The battery will come right out.

Didn’t remove support bar but then mine has 3 bolts not one on each side. Regardless it’s easy to remove the battery without moving the suppprt bar.

My experience with the Ohmmu battery is different than this. Have one in the MME and one in the Lightning.

Interesting. How long have you been using the OHMMUs? Ever thrown any faults?

Est. 3 months on Lightning, 1.5 months on MME.

Pulled the trigger when others have reported 1.5 years on the battery on the lightning board.

Wanted:
- Deep cycle capabilities afforded by lithium
- Blue tooth monitoring of amps, volts, SOC
- Ability to turn off the battery without a wrench (wife cannot do that if needed, but can navigate the app).

So I’m early on the adoption curve.

No codes since battery installed.

Has not prevented the lightning from starting a power draw at midnight occasionally. That will normally result in the power draw screen with the SOC dropping below 50%.

When you install the battery:
1) Update the battery firmware via app
2) Set the battery profile to the vehicle you installed it in (MME or Lightning) via app
3) When battery is fully charged (you should do this before install), reset the Ford BMS using methods you can google up:
- Accessory on
- Flash brights 5 times
- Press brakes 3 times
- Wait for battery icon to flash
- Accessory off

If you have had your LVB replaced by Ford Mobile service, how many hours were you charged for labor? Paying for a small amount for labor is worth it for me.

My dealer had in stock. Was getting periodic low battery on ford pass and bc 1.3 is stuck and not installing. Went in for 10k checkup (29.95) and asked them to look at battery. Got a new one under warranty after 27 months of ownership. They also found kink in hose to rear spray.
They installed yesterday and I picked up today.

smart dealerships are keeping stock since the '21s batteries are dropping like flies at 36-40 months

Thanks, this is helpful. If my LVB wasn't brand new (changed out at the same time as the HVBJB repair), I might consider this.
What's up with the Lightning power drain at midnight?

Will the Mach-e charge
the new LVB battery to 100% SOH afterwards?
Can it? Now that the battery requires (i think) a higher voltage.
