Mach Drop Build Updates

Hi @ChasingCoral curious how do you know they moved up? Was there an email or the web site was updated?

I’m one of those VA customers. I logged onto the Ford site this morning and the build date was moved up by a week. I hope it’s legit.

Joe,

You have your email address and ph# is that thread and a lot of damage can be done with that info. You probably want to edit it out just to be safe.

I emailed retail orders yesterday enquiring about status of MachDrop and build date for my Mach Drop.

I got an email response saying they dont deal with order back end systems and Ford will be scheduling the MachDrops on the backend and when they are scheduled your dealer will know -

That is essence was the response. So just wait I guess.

The zest and enthusiasm I once had for the FE via the MachDrop program has gone. Now realizing that the FE is just a $3,600 trim level and the fact that it’s manufacturing is not a priority, I see no real added value. I also have a Premium on order that I will keep but I am considering the Jag I-Pace as an FE replacement because of reduced pricing and being able to take advantage of the federal tax credit this year. (Note to Ford: MachDrop communication was/is bad!)

Just checked in with my dealer. My Machdrop FE is still "previewing", so in the system, but no build date or VIN...

I see that Ford is previewing your order now, so I hope to have a VIN and build info very soon. I see that our regional office pushed the order priority higher up than we can at the dealership level

Yep, feels like we just took a match to $3600 and lit it on fire. Got suckered in based on bad info leading to bad assumptions. And an unexpected doubling+ of the price gap. But starting over now would probably mean waiting for a 2022, and I'm sick of waiting. It's already been a year.

I just wanna get this fiasco over with, get the car, and mentally write off the $3600 loss. ?

Just heard from my dealer and his Ford representative thought we did not want 2 cars and that we were going to cancel our Premium for the FE. My dealer was able to verify that both cars are in the “system” now but not sure of delivery impact or timing...

I feel bad putting my dealer through any more mess of this mess too. I'm hesitant to bug him again for a build date. I know it's their job but it's already been such a mess just getting to this point that I don't want to become one of those pest customers that they immediately think "Ugh, him again" when I email.

Trying just to hold off and have patience. Getting it in 2020 for the state tax credit sounds like a snowball's chance in hell now anyway. So disappointed in myself for getting suckered into Machdrop and throwing $3600 away, but just have to live with it now and move on.

Not that anyone has reported so far if my memory is right. It has been mentioned around the MachDrop time that these orders will not be visible on your ford.com account as these are handled differently

Someone on FB says their Mach Drop FE has a 4 January build date. That’s based on what he was told by the dealer so TIFWIW.

We saw that date on this forum too I think but you are right - at this point its all to be taken with a grain of salt.

I also shared on this forum that my dealer had called me earlier in the week with an update that my MachDrop FE was scheduled to be built on 1/4.

And that could be a trend in the making. If week of Jan 4th contains all the MachDrop cars then it might also indicate that could be the last week of NA cars before they switch to EU/UK models. Just wild speculation though.....
