Anyone with a machdrop FE get an email from Ford re build date, or only contacted by dealer?

My dealer just replied. Got a VIN, and a build date of Jan 4 like others. Good enough, I suppose. At least it's not WAY behind others. Gonna miss the extra $1500 CO state tax credit, but I'd already resigned myself to losing that by now. (And writing off the +$3600 as a badly failed gamble.)

When I go to the VIN status link, it's not showing anything beyond "Order Confirmed" status yet. But he said there can be a delay between the Ford system and the website.

Nothing at all (other than my cancelled Premium) on my Ford.com account page. Pretty clear no Machdrops show up there.

That order tracker has said Order Confirmed/"In Order Processing" for all of us who got build weeks/VINs a few weeks ago as well, so I wouldn't worry there. Hopefully it'll update at some point...

Congratulations on your Mach Drop FE getting a VIN!

That's the same thing I see for my regular order FE with a 12/14 build week. You would really think it would show "scheduled for production" but only shows "in order processing".

Still no response from my dealer, but if things are somewhat regional for production, then hopefully I got 1/4 as well.

I got the 8:48AM email saying my build week is Jan 11th.

I put my $500 down on 7/23/2020 (1 week after reserving a Bronco). That instantly turned into an order.

I'm excited especially because the Bronco is going to be delayed.

The Mach-e will be replacing my 2016 Fusion Energi. I have a level 2 charger and 36 solar panels. :)

I think all the Machdrops so far are Jan 4 (that I remember seeing anyway). So seems highly likely yours will occur then too. Fingers crossed.

Still miffed that a First Edition got pushed into 2021 while a number of non-FEs will get built in Nov/Dec, but I just have to keep shoving that rage back into it's ugly box when we talk MachDrops. ?

And even though it's 6 weeks later than others, I'm at least glad to finally get confirmation that it's not April or something. Paying +$3600 to "upgrade" to that would have had me really losing it.

Frankly, I'm still not sure more than a few hundred customer MMEs (regardless of trim) will actually show up at dealers in December anyway. Nothing against anyone else, but I'll actually feel better if almost none show up in 2020 now. That'll mean there was virtually no chance anyway, and I won't feel quite as screwed by Machdrop.

Just got a response from the dealer. He says it is scheduled but he can't see the date.
The retail orders people responded and just said I should be contacted by me dealer when it is scheduled.:mad:

Odd. Did he have a VIN? If he's seeing SCHEDULED but not seeing build date, seems like he's looking in a different place than our dealers.

Maybe he's just looking at the shop.ford public VIN lookup page? That one doesn't show build dates. But their internal system should. Not sure if that's WBDO or another system.

Glad you said it, because I was going to if you didn't :)

I can sympathize with that feeling, but you really had a tiny chance of getting a car in 2020 anyway. Honestly, the more I look at the black wheel flanges the more I want to have them painted the body color - the FE looks so much better in that respect. So, yeah its a lost gamble but you'll get a better looking car with nicer stitching and a better future resale.

I reached out to my dealer and I also received confirmation of my build date for my Grabber Blue FE on January 4th. I have a VIN and everything. Could Ford have timed that any worse as fas as the tax situation goes? That is the real insult.

The red stitching is cool. Not $3600 cool, but cool nonetheless. ?

You have to claim the credit in the year that you actually put the car in service (drive it off the lot). Even if you got a December date you probably wouldn't take possession until 2021. I've got a 12/14 date which is among the worst cases - I will get the car in mid to late January, so if I put $7500 down out of pocket, I'll have 14 months wait before getting my tax refund to pay myself back.
