I hope he is criminally charged, that is almost certainly deliberate or DUI.

According to other reports, this occurred on Wednesday August 13 around 1:00 PM on U.S. Route 101 near San Carlos, California. Map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/StuFffhj827e1yUu8
If I power the car down and open the drivers door the car should power off and roll to a stop? Just wondering incase gremlins take over but not something I plan on trying.

The driver had time to react not pray.

I have seen a case where someone had a heart attack stiffen up on the gas pedal and went 60 mph into the front of a Walmart. Lots of driver problems as well as car.

Still alleged until convicted in court.
Na just send them to El Salvador.

according to the press release, the guy was drunk as shit.
Or high as F or in a deeply religious state or just exercising his constitutional rights to a fair trial as has been pointed out.

That’s nice. This isn’t a trial nor a court case and we aren’t violating any constitutional rights.

Just pointing out the obvious that when the driver got arrested for a DUI after an accident with injuries it’s because they were drunk. Literally the first thing they get tested for and get arrested (or not) based on the results.

As far as what they get convicted for, that’s for the courts to decide. But as far as forums go, the constitution doesn’t apply. Just like freedom of speech doesn’t exist here. 🤷‍♂️
Just forget I said anything, I have too much expertise in the subject matter and just need to refrain from commenting.

This should be a great lesson to people wasting their time drawing conclusions about stupid shit they see on the internet.
Wait, what, you mean people can't analyze things accurately after a 2.63 second Tik Toc video taken at the other end of the country, who would have thunk it? 😂

🤣 I fixed the headline now! Was wondering what you meant
How about changing the headline to "Mach-E driver arrested for DUI, nothing to see here"

Why did the car stop after the collision? Driver's foot came off accelerator?
I think that collision would trip the HV fuses ... she's not going anywhere on her own, ever again :(

DUI or not, I still have questions (that'll never get satisfactory answers).

But never did I begin to think this was somehow a defect in the car. Too much would have to go wrong...

I know difficult to understand. Was the driver controlling the accelerator? If the car was accelerating on its own why wouldn't it continue accelerating after the collision. Maybe the control unit was damaged or maybe the driver's foot came off the pedal?
