I watched it several times before replying I just don’t need my hand held to know I’m not looking at AI. He puts his hands back down towards the steering wheel fingers angled down, sunlight hits them. They don’t transform into a second steering wheel. Lucky for you I do know how to make short video clips.
i'll apologize for being sassy and thank you for making the clip

Article about the accident that seems to draw the same WTF conclusions we do:
https://www.carscoops.com/2025/08/m...e-to-stop-before-violent-crash-in-viral-clip/

If in theory the car was out of control and floored, it is possible the driver panicked and was trying to use the wall to slow the car down.

But what I don’t see are brake lights. Could have been a medical/panic event for sure.

Even if it was somehow an uncontrolled acceleration event (like something wedged the accelerator pedal down), still a number of things that the driver could do to stop the car (neutral, turn the car off, hit the brakes, etc). But when you panic your brain shuts off sometimes.

Great clip! The motion of the hands look like someone playing around, not panicking though. Very odd.

So that middle pic above. How does one point hands backwards at themself? I caught a glimpse of that the first time and keep going back to that.

My assumption is, dealer told him it has autopilot. New buyer bought it and thought so. Car hits something, new owner thinks they are hammering the brake and praying the thing will stop when, like in China, some one with a model Y plowed down many streets hammering the accelerator and praying it 'd stop.
That’s my thought as well - stomping on the ……… “It’s the pedal on the right, right?”

This appears to target a limited number of 2021 MachE. I don't know if 50 units means 50 cars.

NHTSA ID Number: 24V777000

Manufacturer Ford Motor Company

Components SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC

Potential Number of Units Affected: 50

Summary

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2021 Mach-E vehicles. An Over-The-Air (OTA) update to the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) may result in a loss of power brake assist, ABS, Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control, and driver assistance features.

Ok who else thinks his insurance company looks at that video and declines to cover this
Well, still trying to wrap my head around this as where it all started from if it was at a point where he could not control it and all I wanted to do was actually go right and he couldn’t turn the wheel that would explain the severe right turn at the end of the wall. I don’t know I mean, I would think it would be covered and I’m thinking Ford would be making this guy Able to buy the new ray Corvette.😁

BC can't stay engaged with a clear empty road, let alone a K rail triggering all the parking assist and pre-collision things.

The real question is why didn't the MME just stop. Mine does when it thinks I might possibly hit something. The 'override' I've been told of to over ride the collision assist is 'push the accelerator firmly'. Which I believe he was.
