8 months into ownership 4,000 miles later a bubble appeared on my front right tire.
They say it’s damage not a defect and want $435 for a new tire!
I’m livid! I certainly didn’t realize I would have to have insurance on my new tires.
Has anyone else experienced this?

I agree with the others that said the original summer tires are garbage. I changed mine at 7000 miles because they only had about 2000 miles of life left. Get a good set of all season tires. Pay attention to the side wall rating. They run better and much longer. Handling has improved greatly.

Go for it! Please recommend my plan right now after doing some research is to go to Costco and see what they can order or even Pep Boys because they are so close to me and offer damage insurance
I right now have Pirelli Zero summer that came with the car I live in Los Angeles
My personal preference will always be discount tire which appears to be close to you. Their selection and pricing is as or more competitive than others and they also have protection on their tires.

From that perspective I think you wouldn't go wrong with any of these (I much prefer all seasons for comfort and longevity)

NOKIAN TIREONE245 /45 R20 103V XL BSW

The Hankook Ion EVO is an EV specific tire but some reports that it does not handle water as well.

Nokian ONE has the highest treadwear warranty. I ran them on a prior vehicle and they were very good but with that high of treadwear you're going to sacrifice grip and handling. Comfort is very high at least.

My personal pick of all those would be between the DWS06+ and Pilot Sport all season 4. I'm personally using the DWS06+

Since I live in LA as well with the many pothole roads on a daily basis, my 19" are quite suspect to damage.

But looking at the thinner profile sidewall on your 20" wheels, very common to see sidewall damage since the MME is heavier than the ICE Mustangs.

If it was time to replace all 4, I'd get a set of RFT as they have heavier sidewalls to allow driving with zero air pressure.

All my vehicles get RFT when it comes time - my wife appreciates it on hers because she can still drive it with no air up to 50 miles at 50MPH until she gets to a tire store; instead of being stranded on the side of the road without a spare these days....

Quite dangerous being a female on the side of a road trying to figure out how to use a mobility kit or wait for a tow.

@Scooby24 if you were picking one today for noise which would you go with. I have been less than impressed with the DWS06 from a noise perspective.

They are a bit noisier than the stock tires on my GT. If I was just worried about noise, I'd probably do those Hankook tires or the Nokian ONE

OP should take the tires to a Pirelli dealer.

It's interesting that people complain about the soft rubber of the P Zero's, when the entire purpose of the tire is to adhere to the road to get the extra HP that the GTPE provides without slipping. By default, that means a sticky, soft tire. That is the sole reason that these tires are on the GTPEs.

When I saw the video of the Ford guy with Leno discussing the tires as they drove, I knew it was going to a very low mileage tire, no surprise there.

Interesting. may I ask why?
Comparative testing from tirerack has it bottom of the list of a B to C tier UHP A/S tire group.

Main complaints are comparative noise, handling, and wet grip. From tread pattern features it looks like it would be terrible in the snow. Discount customer reviews have it rated a 2.2 out of 5. (rated considerably better on tirerack owners but I trust their professional reviewers' opinion much more so than biased owners)

From all observations it appears to be a tire that would excel in a market vacuum with no alternatives at a similar price point.

Eh, the actual hard numbers look pretty decent, I mean the ones that aren’t somewhat subjective. The Toyos thus far seem good to me. Again, that is also my subjective bias. Ride quality is nice, and they seem more quiet than the OEMs.

Are we looking at different numbers? In the dry, its straight line stopping distance was the only area it beat out the others with pretty close results all around. Not really a compelling argument either way there...that's a toss a coin....except when you get to cornering grip. Then you're looking at a .4g drop. That's pretty big....and you'll notice the understeer compared to others. So from my perspective that's an L in the dry numbers.

But then you get to the wet. Not even close. Slower Slalom, different category lap time, atrocious stopping distance and downright pathetic cornering grip.

I'm sorry but there's no way in hell I'd look at these number and be like...yeah I'd buy those. I'm glad you're happy with them...but going back to my other statement, I'd pick probably 10+ other tires first because they are just going to be a better tire in most categories.

In this group of tires I'd be going with the Falken FK460's. Those look very strong...and pricing is very good on em too.

All this said...you mentioning it's quietier than the OEM tire...are you on the Extensa HP II's like we're looking at here, or the Extensa AS IIs?

AS IIs would probably be quieter than the stock tires...but those are touring tires.

Here's a very timely and great video that highlights what I think are probably the best options out there. Pricing wise there's a big discount on the Pirelli PZero AS Plus 3 that is making them cheaper by a couple hundred over the Falken 460A/S, for example. ~1100 vs ~1300. With the current pricing, if I were to buy tires today, I'd buy the Pzero AS Plus 3 from discount.

It’s definitely impact damage, there’s rubber transfer on the wheel rim in two places.

Therefore, I’d recommend not to drive until replaced if not already done, that bleb could blow at any time with disastrous consequences, is illegal and I’d have the 4-wheel alignment properly checked - track/toe, caster, camber, KPI/SAI, thrust angle, setback - misalignment could be a symptom of damage which needs new parts or more likely just adjustments if possible.

Running with misaligned wheels comes at a cost penalty in premature tyre wear and economy/range.

I went with the yokohama AS, it's wearing well and very quiet.
