Great specs for its diminutive size; ideal urban EV. Of course I detest the EX30's Tesla-speedometer-center screen implementation and lack of a driver display/HUD. Ford needs to drop the price of the Select below $40k imo; $39,999 would be more competitive. MSRP is still too high.

- Single Motor EX30 RWD with 275 mi range, 69 kWh battery; 0-60 in 5.1 secs starts at $36,245 (incl. destination, etc..)
- Twin Motor EX30 AWD with 265 range, 69 kWh battery; 0-60 in 3.4 secs starts at ~ $46k (incl. destination, etc..)
- Has a frunk!
- No $7500 tax credit unless leased

You forgot the most important “feature” - it’s Chinese. Who knows how much crapware in the vehicle is reporting back to Beijing on a regular basis.

So easy to say and be against. However Americans speak with checkbook. So what most Americans mean is everyone else should not buy Chinese products. Japan won ICE vehicle wars, China winning BEV wars.

Having driven the C40 twin as a rental for a few weeks Volvo has put together solid car with a few quirks. Hopefully these won't have the drive line vibration that the three different c40s I have driven have. Also hopefully rear visibility is better than the C40. at 5'10" I can't see out the back window of a C40.

Drive one first they are considerably smaller than the MME. The C40 and xc40 are roughly MME size. The C40 and xc40 have also recently been updated to have about 260 miles range in AWD and around 300 in rwd

My observation from driving the car around is range is optimistic and it did around 200 miles at highway speed
The ones you've driven likely only have 226 miles of EPA estimated range, unless you drove a 2024 model year. That rear visibility on the C40 is crap, but the boxier EX30 should be better on that issue. As for size, it's right between the Bolt EV and Bolt EUV, so far smaller than the MME. The C40 and XC40 are a few inches shorter than the MME.

I checked the registration two of the C40s were 2024s one was a 2023. And yes they performed as I quoted. The two 2024s charged to 100% their GOM showed a range of 260ish miles the 2023 charged to 100% showed 220ish range.

There are millions of Volvo owners in the US and worldwide. Has their data been compromised? I'm sure Beijing wants to know what Taylor Swift song is on their radio.

One last point the thermal management of this car is wayyyyyy better than the MME and the C40 absolutely rips on the highway.
My C40 had vibration and clicking issues too, and a stupid slow top speed of 113. It was also featureless even though it was P8 Ultimate trim. And sound insulation didn't exist. The only 4 good things: I liked the HK sound system, the Google nav was insanely good, the awd was very good, and the acceleration was excellent for the numbers. It felt faster than it was on paper.

‘Muricans also buy astonishing amounts of alcohol, tobacco, and fentanyl. This doesn’t mean any of those are “good” 😀

My 2023 in good weather at 90% typically had a GoM of 180ish mi. My ev6 GT at 80% in same, on the same tires (psas4), estimated 190ish. Both seemed accurate. Id return home right at 47-50% after an 80mi commute in both. The 2023 c40 was inefficient as well as defective.

This thing is tiny. Maybe Kia Soul sized but squatter and a tad longer.

Still maybe not small enough for me... was maybe hoping for MINI SE sized lol
