I was more referring to the “going out of business” part.

Does Polestar sell better outside the US to keep them going? I just don’t see it making it here.
Good question. Maybe they sell better in Europe?

Right next to the self destruct imperialist American dogs line of code!
Except that might be true. For sure I won't buy one, so it doesn't matter to me.

Very positive first drive review from Autoblog:

https://www.autoblog.com/2023/11/28/polestar-3-preview/

Initial examples will be built in China, then switching to the Charleston, SC plant that currently builds the S60 halfway through 2024.

Looks pretty good in the video. Didn’t notice the hood spoiler before.

Lots of power, but 5900 lbs……. Oof. That’s why range isn’t remarkable even with the huge battery.

I haven't seen any proof they're installing spyware in EVs. Feel free to provide some evidence.

They wouldn’t be very good spies if you knew they did it. ?

But there isn’t anything more “spy” than a camera in your car constantly monitoring you. They have a history of wanting those things-

But if you want to know all the personal data they collect……they tell you-

https://www.volvocars.com/us/legal-policies/privacy/volvo-cars-app-privacy-notice/

Unfortunately anyone selling cars there HAS to share the data (including Ford), because it’s the LAW-

https://www.autoblog.com/amp/2018/11/29/china-car-data-government-spying/

The difference would be Ford is only sharing data of cars sold there (not my car). But if a car is BUILT there……..

The Polestar 3 will be built both in China and the US.

Did they mention the CCP spyware?
Neat.

So they can spy on us from up close. ?

Not sure what more evidence people need. China forces car manufacturers to share consumer data with the government.

Not exactly a conspiracy theory here.

Now whether or not you CARE if China has all your user, personal and driving info, that’s up to you.
There's no evidence that I've seen, beyond speculation, that the Chinese government per se has access to our personal consumer data through EV manufacturers like Volvo and Polestar. Like I've said before every company is harvesting our personal data. Unfortunately that's just the result of living in this increasingly networked world.

The Volvo personal data notice is standard verbiage that every company has.

We can't even have a proper discussion on Volvo/Polestar in this forum because some members get so triggered. Like it or not, Chinese designed EVs are coming and they are upping the competition. It's fine if some people don't want to purchase for personal reasons but the rest of us are interested in the tech they're offering.

So start your own thread about potential CCP spyware instead of hijacking this one! :D
