I don't think GM will hit their target dates. The Lyriq is already behind about 3 months. Folks were supposed to get Debut Editions around Sept but production dates for orders are around that timeframe.

It does look great though... the interior is a great combo of physical and digital controls

I’ve never liked the Blazer look, still not a fan. Also I’ll never buy another car that doesn’t Apple CarPlay. GM is shooting themselves in the foot by not supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Don’t get me wrong in all seriousness I like the looks of the Mach E but wish it was more SUV like. When Ford does an electric Explorer I will be all over it.

Most people here will agree that the Mustang Mach-E is a fun ride, and good looking, too. ?

BEVs are not cheaper to run on long trips, BEVs are not cheaper when you need to tow or carry a heavy load. They are currently cheaper to run in slow traffic provided you can charge at home. But residential electricity prices will definitely keep going up, and the more EVs sold the faster they will grow.
EV supply chains are nightmare, it simply not going to scale to the level of ICE. Mining of metals and manufacturing of batteries are difficult and dirty, so expect the EV prices to keep rising increasing the gap with ICE vehicles. It's likely that the total cost of ownership will be higher for comparable EVs, but it will depend on a particular use case.
The climate and other factors make EV spread limited. BEVs will not be a solution in cold climates, BEVs will never be a substitute for large powerful diesel equipment. Not even mentioning the poor countries in the world that won't see any large BEV adoption.
BEV share is growing fast right now because it's growing from zero, there is no mature market that weighed all pros and cons, instead there is a lot of hype. Everything is pointing to an unraveling bullwhip effect, as it often happens with new hyped technologies -- irrational investments, accumulation of inventories, bankruptcies, followed by contraction, rising prices, etc. until the market stabilizes. Right now we are in the first hype stage.
Here is a good video. Peter Zeihan, who is an expert in geopolitics, discussed many issues related to modern technologies with two Tesla nuts ? Quiet sobering.

I think you ignoring the societal cost of ICE vehicles when comparing BEV to ICE vehicles. Eventually this will become part of the equation. Also my trip from central Minnesota to Central Michigan was not that expensive- especially when I can fully charge before I leave and arrive at home close to empty.

Of course there are going to be winners and losers as well as bankruptcies.We saw this with the pc industry. You don’t see Ohio Scientific, Radio Shack, Gateway, MySpace, Blackberry, AOL Online, and others around anymore, but we do have a thriving technology industry.

I don’t believe we have learned everything with regards to what is possible with battery technology. Improvements to batteries and/or charging could change everything.

I haven’t been to China since 2019, but when I was last there most of their mopeds had moved over to electric - giving options for households not making much money. I hear they have over 90 companies working on electric cars. You should check out some Munro and associate videoed on YouTube.

I will say I like the dash, but don't see much else tonget excited about. I've been disappointed by some of the highway range #s for the Lyriq.

Yeah, he tested the RWD, though he said that the EPA rating of the AWD is only 5 miles less. He hasn't published the video yet, but here's a clip of him talking about it on the Inside EVs podcast:

I picked up a Rivian R1S on Friday and set everything up. It has no CarPlay. Do I miss it? Nope. What do I miss? A HUD! I dumped the Ioniq 5 Limited AWD for it and it's the first thing I wanted back along with the autosteer on local roads.

Both the Ioniq 5 and R1S had ventilated seats which now I consider a huge plus in warm climates in Florida.

The Blazer and the Lyriq (still haven't received a production week for my March/April 2022 order) are less appealing to me because they are large wagons with not a lot of cargo space. I like how small the Mach-E is. I love the huge cargo space of the Rivian. In my test drive of the Lyriq (Blazer will be similar size) it's too small and too big. It drives like a fat wagon version of an Ioniq 5 and the Ioniq 5 already is chunky hatchback with a poor turning radius.

And there's no HUD on the Lyriq and probably not on the Blazer either

Thanks, haven't listened to the podcast yet. Will have to look out for his video. It was Motortrend that tested the Lyriq and got 270 for the RWD but only 220 for the AWD in their highway range test (the Mach-E GT got 250 in the same test for reference):

"The Lyriq's battery offers 102.0-kWh worth of capacity and offers an estimated driving range of up to 308 miles per charge in the single-motor model and 307 miles for the dual-motor version. In our highway range test, the rear-wheel drive Lyriq provided 270 miles of driving before needing to be recharged; the all-wheel drive went for only 220 miles in the same test. "
