Hey all, I Just ordered my A2Z adapter and have a couple questions.

What is the maximum KW you get while using this adapter at a Tesla Supercharger?

Has anyone experienced the charge cable being too short to reach the Mach-E's charge port?

Do you need the tesla app or does the Ford Blue Network app talk to Tesla chargers also?
I've peaked about 180kW when charging our Lightning using the Tesla-engineered adapter.

The cable is short. You will probably have to line your left front corner with the charger.

You can use Plug & Charge if you have received the necessary update. You can use Charge Assist or the Tesla app as well. You can sign up for a $13/month membership to save 12¢ per kWh.

I’ve gotta say that while I don’t have an A2Z adapter, everything I’ve heard about the company impresses me. Are they perfect? No, but it seems they work really hard to do the right thing.

Lectron, on the other hand… ?
I agree. They will answer the phone, reply to your email inquiries, and deliver on the promised time. Once you get your adaptor, they will thank you one more time. That is the case with my adaptor on hand. I am keeping this one while I am waiting for the 2 adaptors that are due from Ford.
These kind of purchasing experiences are few and I wish they were a lot more like this. A2Z is high on my list.

Agree that A2Z is great to deal with. My first A2Z adapter was machined so that I could never get a solid link to NACS, so it would not lock. A2Z rushed me a replacement unit, which worked first time.
One other thing, not A2Z related. In Florida several Super Targets have installed Tesla superchargers very recently. UNFORTUNATELY, they have also put an asphalt 'bumper' (NOT a bollard) on the ground in front of the charger. I have never seen these before. This completely RUINS a Ford user from getting close enough to charge. Not sure if anyone else is seeing these, but I hope this is not a trend.

Somewhere in one of the many threads on using Tesla Superchargers is a post about getting some ramps that fit in the frunk to use to get the front of your car up and over obstacles. I tried searching for it, but couldn’t find it. I’m also eating pizza, so guess where my priorities lie. ;) ?

Hopefully someone else will remember this and repost it here.

Received my A2Z adapter a few weeks ago and used it at several Superchargers that I last visited when I had my Tesla. Once connected, it worked flawlessly. There are times where the slide switch on the A2Z won't even budge. Other times it slides and locks perfectly. All depends on the Tesla plug.

My Advice: check the plug end on the Tesla adapter. If it's chipped on the edge or the inner part is less than perfect, you'll have the A2Z lock slide problem.

I also turned off plug & charge in the MME and use the Tesla app so I can see a more detailed charge status while away from (and sitting in) the car. This includes SOC as well as a more accurate current charge speed.

It does seem though with P&C turned off the built in nav does not recommend Tesla chargers. Could just be coincidental on my end, but it did not recommend them once I turned it off.

24-PU0119-DC-CHG4 contains the software needed to use Plug & Charge with the Tesla Superchargers. You will also need the Tesla P&C certificate which you will see in your connected services.

However, you will be able to use the Tesla app to initiate charging without receiving either of those.

No.

Only Ford and Rivian.

The update enables Plug and Charge. Tesla's network identifies the manufacturer and won't allow other brands, yet.
Let me know if you have an idea where to find support for this. Even just a week(?) ago pretty sure it was not supported by Mach-Lee.

My bad, I think I just missed the moment when we learned Mach-Es actually needed * no * software updates to use Tesla Superchargers. Guessing just enough people reported(?) they could charge with Tesla app and were pretty sure they never got the PU OTA for Tesla.

No vehicle update is needed to charge, if you use the Tesla app. But, the car must be an improved manufacturer, and right now that is only Ford and Rivian.

My wife's mother passed away last Sunday and the funeral is tomorrow 340 miles away. My wife wanted to take the Mach-E and we had the A2Z adapter on order but it wasn't scheduled to be shipped until the 20th.

I called @A2ZEV and explained the situation and they overnighted the adapter to us for $15 so right off the bat they were really helpful and wanted to help us with our situation. Last night we went to a Tesla Supercharger to test the adapter and I am glad I did because at first it wouldn't lock, I tried multiple stalls and every one of them just wouldn't lock in. After playing with it for about 30 minutes I found that the charger needed to be inserted into the adapter quickly with a snap or click sound, once that happened the lock could be engaged. After that the charging was seamless, I just plugged into the car and the charge started.

Overall the company is great, the adapter works, the construction is solid and feels substantial with nice texturing, the learning curve on how to connect the adapter is my only complaint with the need to do a quick insert not being called out in the instructions provided.
Awaiting on my adapter. Quick question. Do you have to download the Tesla App. How do you pay for the charging. Do you set up an account. Are MachE owners charged a higher rate to charge. Thank for helping.

Download the Tesla app and set up an account. In the account put in your credit card info. If you don't have a monthly plan you will be charged whatever their rate is. Rates differ at some stations by time of day and will vary from station to station. All the data is available on the Tesla website. Pricing changes happen quite often.

Thanks for posting this. I got my A2Z adapter over the weekend and tested it at our local Tesla superchargers. I could not get it to click and never got connected. I will try again. I think I was afraid to push too hard on the adapter.
