OMG guys, I just filled up my ICE car and it lost 50 miles of range too! Down to only 400 miles!

It's almost like there's something affecting both cars! It has to be those lights in the corn fields I keep seeing, I think they're stealing my gas and electrons while I sleep! The range is lower the next morning, so the only possible explanation is somebody has to be stealing it at night!

We don’t have any corn fields nearby but I suspect it is the Northern Lights draining our batteries.

It's easy to explain Lee - when the battery gets warm during the day the pressure inside increases, so there is a relief valve in the batteries to slowly release electrons. You only notice it in the morning because it takes a while for the electrons to flow out over night. All BEV batteries work like this except Tesla.

Safety first.

I have never lost range in my ICE vehicles in the winter. They have never had lower mpg due to warming up. And don't even start about winter gas getting lower mpg because it contains less energy. I asked the guy at the Mini Mart Quick Fill and he said he knows for a fact they always get the same gas, because Gary, the gas truck delivery driver told him.

Also, while we are at it, stop spreading the lies that the faster you go the worse efficiency you get also applies to gas vehicles, because it doesn't. I tested that last week. Drove 80mph for a minute, then 60mph for a minute, and the needle moved the same amount.

I really wish this forum contained more facts than wrong opinions, like Facebook and Reddit do!

It’s the general disappointment for me, that people in 2023 can’t use the basic search function on Google, this forum, Reddit, FB, etc and expect hand crafted, individual, up to the minute updates from unpaid ā€œvolunteersā€ (us). It’s a waste of bits. Try searching first, if you can’t find it ask, don’t get pissy when someone links a previous discussion. It benefits all of us to keep the threads to a minimum, and only add to existing convo’s. Also, this is all a joke, sense of humor required. ????
Yeah I'm not bothered by repeat questions, I just scroll by if it's not interesting to me. What I do find with a bit of dismay, before asking a question, I'll search on this forum. and the search results take me to threads with 75+ pages of replies. This is actually a good thing because it shows this site to be a great resource for info. I actually searched for a weird charging issue with my new 23 gtpe. but couldn't find anything direct so created a thread. Linked up with a few other people experiencing exact issue and Ford has promised a fix sometime in november (and by OTA which is even better).

I can’t tell if this is part of the joke or you’re being serious.

I am sure Lee can get us the Official Ford part number for the electron drip pan to collect these overflowing electrons so we can put them back.

My expected range went down because it’s cold. F FORD! Also, where the hell is my BC 1.3? I paid good money to get updates every two weeks. Get on it FORD! My mirrors stopped extending after the last update: why? I got a notice about a HVJB recall? What should I do?! This car has too many problems, I’m selling now. Too many issues I could quickly fix but don’t want to be bothered. Change a setting in the menu when I already set it???? OMG, Ford sucks so badly. I expect my car to be flawless and never ever break. Like everything else I buy. FORD SUCKS!!!!

/s

people are silly.
I think you hit them all. Well done!!
