New Delays?

Just spoke with my dealer. They said my car is built but is on hold waiting for a microchip. They also said from their experience that I should get it sometime in September (original ETA 8/6, latest ETA 10/31).

The dealer reassured me that Mach-Es and Broncos are getting chip priority (as Ford has stated) but I guess that doesn't mean there is enough for all the orders. They also said that GTs are getting equal priority for chips compared to the other trims. Good news for those with non-GTs like me but we'll see if that holds true.

Yes but my dealer is charging $3k over MSRP for one on the lot which I’m not willing to do. I ordered mine beginning of June so it will take awhile but I’d rather wait even if it means waiting until 2022. This is the down side of Ford’s selling process. One benefit of Tesla is without dealerships people move up in line as orders are canceled.

Yeah, I know that I lucked out! I found a dealer that was willing to sell for MSRP and NO adm!! There are scumbag dealer’s down here marking them up by as much as $10K over MSRP!

I ordered my Mach E on 3/20, it was built on 6/23 and shows shipped 6/24 with 39 days for transit. My ETA was 8/11, but slipped to 8/21 yesterday. I wouldn't think a chip shortage would delay a car already in shipping.

For reference, it's a premium RWD, standard range in carbonized grey.

No idea how or why, but mine came in on Wednesday, a full week early compared to what my order showed on the Ford site.
I ordered 2/6/21, and it was built and shipped right on schedule too.

Based on the real world experiences people post here, I set my expectations very low and I did not expect to see it until at least mid August. So I feel pretty lucky compared to the people that have had massive delays in getting theirs.

This will be my first brand new Ford and first EV, and the issues people report here did have me a little concerned about the brand and this first year model. But I am pretty handy and very realistic, so as long as Ford stands behind the product I am not going to worry about it.

We are going to go see it later today, I have only seen one in person before for a few minutes, and have not even driven one yet. I ordered based on the many positive things I heard about the MME. Hopefully the wife will like it, as it will be her daily driver for a long commute.

I ordered my Premium AWD Extended in February, I've been tracking it using the tracker since I got my VIN, it has a Production Date of 6/18/21 and up until yesterday it had an ETA End Date of 8/7/21.
But today that changed on the tracker to 10/31/21.
I'm totally ok with the fact this means it may be nearly 9 months between order and delivery, I'm just curious why the slip, still silicon chip shortages maybe?

Saw on the news two weeks ago that the chip manufacturing plant in Taiwan that suffered from a large fire is now back up to 100% pre fire production....so that excuse is no longer valid. I told my dealer to stop using that and showed him a printed copy of the story

It has now gone back to “order confirmed” with no build date on the order tracking site.

Although I bought mine in April off the lot (couldn't wait), the one that I ordered in November had a delivery date moved back to late July, early August. I got a call from the dealer last week that the car was delivered and ready for pick up. Hopefully your vehicles will be delivered before expected! Fingers crossed!

Ordered December, Built April, May 25th got an Email from Ford saying it was Delayed until June 29th. May 27th, car delivered to my dealer.

I had bought one off the lot in February so refused delivery.

Anyways it sucks.

Last time I spoke with my dealer he claimed shipment delivery would happen in late July, that was a few weeks ago. Now this is what my ETA is showing.

Ordered my GT about 3 weeks ago, at this point I anticipate end of the year at the earliest. Not hoping for anything more. If it magically shows up before that it'll just be icing on the cake. These chip shortages are really something else, really shows how much the world relies on something so small.
