Ouch. I picked up my GTPE on 9/27. Figures they would discount right afterward.
Did you get the 0% loan from Ford? If so, you got a better deal than the current cash incentives. We picked up our Mach E a couple of weeks ago (with the 0% loan / 60 months) and will save more than $8,000 in interest during the term of our loan.

Given that Ford's recent 0% loan incentive program just expired, this is a decent substitute (although the 0% loan offer was easily a better deal in terms of interested saved when the prevailing auto loan is 6%-7%)
Yeah I don't feel like nearly as big a chump buying a car that five days later they offered 6250 incentive!! As I did get 0% and also xplan (think that was around $1500 off)

I also got the 0%. So I guess I won’t feel too bad about it. I hadn’t bothered to do the math, but it’s hard to beat the internet rates. 1.9% for 72 months or 3.9% for 84 months as well.

Opening up that tax credit back to Tesla was a really really dumb move.

At least you didn’t buy a Tesla Plaid or Audi Etron GT($50,000 price drops this year)!

Market tanked on all BEVs this year. Tesla led the charge on that one screwing everyone over on resale.

That said, this is just a point in time, doesn’t really matter much.

A month after I bought my “leftover” 2015 Chevy SS for 20% off MSRP…….. Chevy extended 25% off the new 2016 models and ran that promo for around 9 months!!

I thought my resale value was gonna be trash.

Fast forward 6 years to when I sold it for $45k to CarMax (I paid $36k new). I was fine.

So unless you’re selling today, I wouldn’t sweat it too much. No one in December expected these BEV price wars this year.
Man can't compare the SS to any of these, it's a collector car today and crazy desirable! this is like comparing CTSV-Wagon with 20k miles from 2012 to EVS.

For sure it’s a rare situation.

The comparison was more that the market (and values) can and do change.

Todays prices only matter if you’re buying or selling today.

Funny thing about the SS being a collectors car- it’s interesting because NO ONE was buying them new. They just sat on the lots. It’s why I could still find dozens of 2015s still for sale in spring of 2016 and why they ran the 25% off sale for so long.

I watched the used value the whole 6 years I owned it. About two years in it bottomed out around $30k ($48k sticker price, paid $36). Then in year 6 it ballooned to $45k when I sold it.

Same goes with the CTSv wagon. Very slow selling new, which is why it’s rare.

I built a 23 GTPE on Ford website and it was $2000 less than what I paid last Spring. My nearest dealer had regular GTs at $61k and were offering dealer discount (2500) and the RCC discount. It seems they started with the GTPE price before the markdown on regular GTs. I wish I waited.

I remember they didn't sell, I personally decided to go with the charger hemi, now I regret not getting an SS, I always liked it, many cars I regret not buying few years back, including E92 M3, 560SL, 2003 Dodge Viper! 981 GTS, and finally a Hellcat, I could've afforded two of these back in 2020! not I can't even afford a clean low mileage one.
The depreciation on EVs only matter now if you sell exactly, if you keep the car for 5 years, you should be fine, as much as I hate the Mach E now, I may still buy myself a used GTP, I see GTP go for $41k-$42k everyonce in a while, that's very cheap, people keep saying Tesla lost value, it did not tbh, they just lowered the prices, but go quote a MYP and Mach E GTP, Mach E lost more and the price is still the same!

Nothing is dumber than using taxpayer funds to subsidize something that should be able to stand on its own if it were competitive. Tesla single handedly started the path the automotive industry is on right now. They're also the only nationwide charging network that actually works.

23MY MME Route 1 - $6,250 RCC (program 11108) or $5,250 RCL (program 50022)
23MY MME GT - $9,250 RCC (program 11108) or $7,250 RCL (program 50022)

Job 2 (2023.5 MY):

Thanks for posting this, but I'm not finding any $6,250 discount on Job 1 Premiums.

It's there, the dealers might not know about it. If you're interested in a Mach-E, you might have to give your salesman the five-digit program code before they'll apply it.

I’m not surprised about all the incentives Ford is putting out.

My local dealer has 43 new Mach-Es out of 174 new cars in stock, or 25%. My salesman sent me an email last week about “aggressive rebates and incentives”, “now is a good time to buy!”.
