No offense to anyone and just lightening up a stressful day……

I want to report discrimination…….where is the canned “plug the pigtail firmly into your charger response” and the “not another one who does not plug the charger in properly”…….Like you all give the folks complaining about winter range loss…….

Sorry, I am crying in laughter over this post…LOL

Anyway, this is what the forum is for, to help ANY Mach E Owner, with ANY type of issue. There is a lot of knowledge here….and it’s great to see it shared.
Almost a valid point if the issue reported happened to be a loss of range now that the weather is colder. Except it wasn't. Any new MME owner who is freaking out because they cannot charge their car should get help from the forum. Anyone who has been driving their MME for 6 months and is just now learning about the GOM deserves a little constructive feedback.

That said, I think new forum members who post questions we all know the answer to should be treated kindly, not derisively. When the next person posts about lower cold weather range, I will just post this: https://www.macheforum.com/site/posts/297977/. No criticism, no making fun, just provide them with help.

It is frustrating, because the range question gets asks every day, but personally I don't think we should make fun of people who don't know what we know. I mean, really, there is so much I still don't know as a new EV driver. And while I read this forum every day, I learn something about my EV almost every day.

Not everyone is so obsessed with their MME like I am, and like many on this forum are. Those normal people come here for help. And we should help them, and then laugh behind their backs.

It sounds like your charger may be bad. Are you near Santa Claita? If so PM me.
Already resolved. Charger is fine.

Fine if it makes you feel better, I’ll chastise the OP and help whoever the next person who does the same thing.

READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!!!!

This diagram literally comes taped to the charging cord. And it has pictures like a Denny’s menu so even drunk people can understand!

Hey if I ever use this thing now I know.

Today I also learned that degree of separation between the gaming community and car forums is very thin ... Wait, say something in comms again ?

LOL I'm not sure if most people will get that reference. In my defense I had replied before it was known, or at least before I noticed. ?

I wish my Whole Foods had charge stations. They just got the ability to accept Amazon returns ?

Also agree with this, you really have to use quite a bit of force to get that 120v tail into in the charger - it needs to be completely within the charger, if it is sticking out, it likely is not all the way in and that final bit is the hardest part.

On the other hand, OP, I also had a wall outlet that works perfectly for everything else but just would not charge the Mach-E for whatever reason. Wouldn't trip or anything, just would not charge. If you have not yet done so, I also recommend trying a plug that is in a completely different part of your house as others have suggested.
You might want to go to the hardware store and buy a circuit tester. You just plug it in and it will tell you if your outlet is wired correctly. Kobalt 30-250v Digital Receptacle Tester Specialty Meter in the Test Meters department at Lowes.com

no idea! ha but it just started working!! It wasn't pushed in all the way!!!!! that was it!
I struggled with charging, range anxiety, planning my trips, when to charge, etc. I picked up my car at the end of May and I'm very comfortable now. It is a learning curve, give yourself grace and pat yourself on the back for your accomplishments.

As soon as you can, have an electrician add a dedicated 240V outlet to your garage, or wherever you park. We used the level one charger for a few days while we waited for this, and once you have level 2, you can just keep it topped off every night. Set it to charge to 90% and set your charge schedule to avoid charging during the more expensive hours for electricity. We have solar, so charging costs nothing.

Totally agree! I am a pessimist at heart and was worried about fast charging on the road, so I slowly worked up to trusting it. I started by doing shorter trips where I charged on the road even though I didn't need to in order to build confidence. Eventually I built that trust, and just did a 1600 mile road trip in October. The key is doing research to figure it all out ahead of time, and then it will fall into place.

This was a single sheet taped to my charger.

How much more info do you need?

Unless a dealer removed this paper it comes with every Mach-E!
