This "update" has inspired me! A few months ago I totally gave up on PaaK. It was failing constantly so I started carrying a fob. Which works perfectly, of course.

I am not sure when it happened, but within the last month or two PaaK stopped working altogether. I am not sure when because I have been carrying a fob. But a few times I tried to open the car without the fob and I couldn't.

Anyway, I got a new phone yesterday and today I set up Paak on it. I plan to go pure Paak from now on, but of course I am not trusting it yet. I will be stashing a foil wrapped fob in my bag:

I would always leave a FOB hidden in the car -- PAAK is not a solution if (when?) your Mach-E needs a tow....

And if you need to leave a key with a valet or car wash kid.

There's a keyless valet mode for these situations, but I have never left my car with one to try it.

Weird, our cars were from the same week and my paak has worked pretty well. Little glitchy once in a while but I never carry my fob except to take to garage. I use an iphone 12pro

PAAK works fine, it’s mostly issues on the phone side. I use PAAK exclusively, no issues.

I use PAAK exclusively but keep a key hidden in a faraday bag. It almost always works. Might take a few presses of the button. If not the keypad on door is a good backup.

they Valet code (without the FOB) is not short. Can’t imagine having to copy that after pulling into a parking lot or restaurant valet. Giving it to the attendant and then him actually saving it. too much time. You can take a picture and then text to attendant but that is also not happening.

just easier to take the second FOB and give to attendant. The hidden FOB in the car is for emergencies and rarely do I take it out.

I have never tried Valet Mode either, so not sure how it works. When the valet parks the car, how do they lock it, open it and start it? Anyway, it is easier to give them a key. At least for me anyway, since I haven't bothered to read the manual! ?

Samsung Note 9. I don't know what went wrong because I didn't change any settings and it used to work just fine. Probably it was a phone problem but I couldn't figure out how to fix it. Anyway, new phone, new day.

I don’t understand why you would let a stranger drive your car though, at a valet or a car wash. I don’t even let my husband drive my car.

I avoid parking garages that don't have self parking, and I avoid restaurant and hotel valet parking. I don't let anyone but my wife drive my car. So I am with you. It is a very rate case when it happens, and I don't like it at all. But if I need to, I give up the fob.

Funny.

I use valet mode and give FOB to valet. Valet mode with the FOB is only 4 digits and it’s only for you as attendant has the FOB. Prevents anyone having access to any car info.

some restaurants require valet and when driving into Manhatten, don’t always have a choice to park on the street and if you do, someone using your car as if they are in one of those bumper cars at a carnival.

Well I just got it also. And my car was fully updated via FDRS in 2022. So I wonder what happened to my car today? It took about 10 minutes to do something. I am in EA.
Me too
