I think he may have been ignorant of the situation at the time (I know I was). I came to the party late myself in that I didn't know much about the Mach E until I ordered it in October (I heard of it but not in any detail and I certainly didn't know how popular it was and all the pre-ordering, etc.). As many of you know, I have been very critical of Ford for their lack of communication and it sounds like you had an entirely different experience than me and that's great (heck I'd be grateful for just a few e-mails from them). Perhaps ordering it directly from the dealer explains some of it but I still believe Ford could have (and can) done/do a much better job as well. I guess I am remembering how well they kept those informed who ordered their Thunderbirds in 2001. I have seen many of the videos on You Tube and they are very informative. I also feel completely up to speed after being on this forum since October. I'll keep texting and calling the dealer periodically in hopes of getting some answers from Ford but to date, nada.?

That's an overly optimistic dealer! Wow.
I placed my online reservation on November 18, 2019 and have received AT LEAST 25 emails from Ford since then.
You may be feeling left out because of your very recent order and that you made it through a dealer instead of online. So Ford expects all of your communications, in this case, to be between you and your dealer, as that is where you are handling this deal.
But don't feel left out. @Mach-E VLOG has put together a tremendous recap of all of the important information we've learned from Ford over the last 14 months or so, over at his namesake:
