I used to only rarely have 'no key' and other PaaK issues. But it has become a lot more common after the last update.

I have learned a few tricks ... I'm always able to make it work. Sometimes I disable/re-enable Bluetooth on the phone. Sometimes I open FordPass and send a remote-start command (which usually wakes things up). But it used to mostly just work for me.
Yeah, the remote start works fine.. and the unlock.. but it still says "no key detected" even with the phone on the QI

as soon as i get off these con-calls.. i'm going to go sit and try the 'connections off-on' within car settings.

all the above and everything we could think of.. again, we were one of the lucky ones since our purchase.. this was almost an overnight change
did the change occur when you updated the FordPass app?
what version are you running? fp 3.28.0 ?

Meh...at least your app works at the moment. After the update two days ago, all I get is the Ford logo, then back to home screen. The phone also gets rather warm when trying to access the app so I can only assume the app update didn't download properly. Here's hoping you get your issue worked out to your satisfaction, though.
Exactly the same for me. Starting yesterday the app won’t even open. Just flashes the white screen with blue oval and then crashes. I updated stuff a few days ago and didn’t have any issue. Glad to know I’m not the only one having issues. I’ve tried restarting the phone. Open it without Bluetooth or wifi. Nothing. Just crashes. I have an iPhone.

Required Shortcuts: Install the next three in order and run each one as you go along to ensure you have your settings correctly filled out. The rest of the shortcuts build on top of these 3 so once they’re working, you should be good to go for the rest.

FordPass Settings (https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/9bc1eb69fef84afebdf14c1e26db2166) - This sets up your account information as well as the VIN of the car you want to control. It also includes hardcoded values for clientId and applicationId which were pulled from the git repository.

Get FordPass Token (https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/16b5984efea8462e9897c1e58a8d9560) - This uses your login credentials and returns an auth token.

Get Vehicle Status (https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/75dfc5615d1f43e485866c12661b0e8d) - This returns a detailed JSON containing a large amount of information about your car and is used in many of the shortcuts below. I only built shortcuts that every vehicle should support but if you run this on it’s own, it outputs the JSON so you can look through what else is available.

Not sure but if you go in order they all work great the cloud is likely what needs to be accessed to obtain your Ford acct. I had to put in my account, password and VIN# and when I did that it was able to communicate to my car. Now I can say...Het Siri start my car or lock my car or unlock my car. etc

Ok. resetting the connectivity did not fix. Tried to remove my profile , forgot all the BT connections from the iPhone , deleted the app and rebooted the phone.

it just spiraled from there. We now have NO PAAK listed in the car. FP app will not allow us to "setup PAAK" eventhough we have now done a "MASTER RESET"...

This is out of control.. and we were one of the happy ones...

THis is all after the FP app update over the last week. Sad :(

i wish I had the time... I work constantly and just didn't need another headache.. we were happy

Sounds like exactly what I went through. Mine too was working till and update and then PaaK death occurred. Really sad. I have no answers. Once the reset is done and doesn't let you get to the backup code you are done. The PaaK system is now dead to you. I tried everything got no where. Don't waste your time with dealers. They don't have the tools to help.

Get a second FOB everyone. You never know when the PaaK skull of death will visit you. ☠

I doubt it was the FP update, more likely the PowerUp 1.6.0 update for the car. At least that's what broke mine - but I was able to recover.

You need to have the fob with you to set up paak again.

Turn the car off. Force quit FP. Restart your phone. Wait a good long time with the car completely off, relaunch FP, go to the car and try again. If you've done all that, it is indeed time to call the dealer.

I think that many of the issues with PAAK are not Ford issues at all, but rather, are the results of the various constraints and idiosyncrasies of Bluetooth.
Known issues, therefore Ford problem.

I have the Fordpass crash problem not too long ago. Try these steps:

1. Delete the Ford pass app.
2. Go to the Bluetooth setting and “forget” all Fordpass related BT connections. Like sync4,
3. Go To general->CarPlay “forget” sync4.
3. Re-install Fordpass app
4. Setup PAAK again.

So far so good. Hope it fixes your problem too.

I see a few replies referencing problematic connections with Ford servers potentially causing problems. I hope that it isn’t the case since the phone and/or car would need an internet connection for PaaK to work.

Phone As A Key hopefully means just the phone and the car are required to authenticate and no outside party is required - just like a key fob does. Any design needing a third party such as Ford to authenticate the transaction is just plain wrong.
