For those who have either the grabber blue or vapor blue colors, is it easy to see imperfections, like swirls etc. on either or both of those colors? I like both blues but am very OCD and easily seeing swirls on the paint will drive me crazy.

I don’t want white, but think space white would be a good option cos I think the imperfections would be less noticeable. TIA

Hi, I have vapor blue and don't really see a lot of imperfections. I just put graphene coating on it and it really helps bring out the shine and protect the paint from sun and rain spots. I never run my car though a car wash, but I know that's not the case for many owners. Not sure how well grabber blue holds up, but I'm happy with my color.

Thanks for the reply. I always hand wash my cars, never go through a car wash. I really like the uniqueness of the vapor blue - like I said though I am OCD and don’t want to be obsessing over the small swirls that show

We have had my wife’s Grabber Blue GTPE for over a year and I see zero imperfections in the paint. The car was delivered with the paint in flawless condition from the factory.

I’m also OCD about keeping my car clean and swirl free. When the car was delivered, Itold the dealer NOT to wash the car at all. I wash the car myself once a week and have protected the paint with Griot’s Garage Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax.

I’m really glad to hear that. My current car came off the truck with swirls and imperfections and the dealer couldn’t get it out. Been bothering me since day one.

Another OCD person here. Can’t speak to either color, cause I only buy silver due to, you know. I just wanted to suggest PPF-ing the front, black mirrors, and B-, C-pillar as well as wheel well trim. The car has a ton of obnoxious piano black trim that will look like shit even with hand washing. My vehicle looks new after a year of abuse given all the protection applied.

Yeah I was thinking that I would PPF the piano black pieces, but I don’t tend to keep cars long, so don’t think it makes sense to PPF other parts

I don’t know about any of the other colors, but my two black MMEs were impossible to keep swirl free. I love black, biut the amount of upkeep to not have it look like total crap is insane if you park outside.

I just want to put a warning out for those considering PPF.

I PPF’d, ceramic, and window-tinted my 21 GT Grabber Blue for thousands of dollars, cheap-end for my area. It was beautiful! When it came time to decide whether to sell it back to Ford as a lemon, I almost ate the cost of those items.

Oklahoma Lemon Law doesn’t cover accessories, which PPF, ceramic, and tint are considered as such. Your state law may vary on what is covered on a lemon. Ford worked with me on that cost due to the night-mare experience I had with my ownership so I got most of it back in the buyback. Again, your mileage may vary so check your local laws on lemon buybacks. Do your research and keep ALL receipts in the event you end up with a lemon so you can prove the expenses.

One product I would highly recommend that will actually hide most of the paint imperfections in a car is MEGUIAR'S Hybrid Ceramic Wax. It come in a spray and you put on when washing the car.

I use Technician's Choice ceramic detail spray and that works well.

I love my grabber blue. Over two years later, the paint is mostly still in great shape.

To be honest, I wouldn’t even know what “swirls” to look for. But if you’re seriously considering going with Space White - which has all the excitement of a lump of clay - just because it will hide imperfections better, I think maybe you need to re-examine your priorities. :)

I highly doubt that PPF is going to help with the piano black trim, but it is ESSENTIAL for the front end and mirrors. The front ends are magnets for rock chips. I collected several small ones just in the few hundred miles before I got my PPF installed, and my highways are pretty clean.

I also paid over $1,000 for a professional ceramic - total waste of money in my opinion.

If I could do it again, I’d do the PPF before it even left the dealership, and then I would have self-applied an inexpensive spray-on hybrid ceramic/wax coating like Turtle or Meguiars every 3-4 months.

And absolutely go with a fun color.

Yeah I’ve done ceramic coating before too and realized it was pointless as well.

the more I see grabber blue the more I’m leaning toward it. That’s why I want to make sure it won’t drive me crazy seeing swirls and marks

I have been super impressed with the Turtle spray coating. Super quick and easy to apply. Super forgiving. And months later the water is still beading up.
