Seems like it’d be cool for car camping. I’ve always been a backpacker so I haven’t yet tried “glamping” with an air mattress in the back of a heated EV SUV as is all the rage these days.

I'm near Sacramento where it frequently is 100 degrees + in the summer and I've not needed a shade.

On the other hand, you only really get to look out if you’re in the back seat.
I am also in Sacramento, and the summers can be brutal. The roof is not in my field of vision as a driver. But I think it’s great. I did get a screen that takes the edge off, and it comes with a reflective layer you can include to black it out inside and reflect back whatever gets through the glass. I only use it for two or three months in the summer.

I didn't choose to have one as It came with the model I wanted. It has grown on me. At first I thought it was a waste as I (the driver) could not enjoy the view. Now, I enjoy the extra light and the occasional look up at the sky.

I’m 6’ 2” and love our glass roof and I live in Oklahoma where it gets very warm in the summer. I do have a sunshade, but rarely use it. If I bought another one, I’d get the glass roof

I’m 6’2” as well and have 4” of headroom to spare without the pano. Must have a lot of pro basketball players and cowboy hat aficionados in here :)

It mainly for the backseat passengers as the driver rarely can see it. As far as heat or cold I don’t notice any difference then any other car. its got built in reflective materials to keep the heat down. If you dont care either way, do without, one less thing that can crack from road debris.

I see a lot mentioned about the driver not being able to see it, I could see that being the case for some, but it is in my field of view. I tend to tune it out mostly, but it's in my peripheral vision all the time. I am tall enough to keep my seat all the way back, and don't tend to hunch forward while driving, so my head is against the headrest.

The pano roof does make it easier to read a book whilst BC HF'ing into work in the HOV lane.
(I've been looking for the most ridiculous thing I could pretend to be doing as the jackasses who tailgate me whip out from behind give me the eye as they pass at 90+mph and cut me off. I was trying to barrow my daughters fake sushi plate with sashimi, or a ukulele (which I've seen someone in a Model 3 MANY years ago playing while on autopilot), some form of needlepoint, building a ship in a bottle etc.)

Looks like tall people don’t have an issue but from what I had read, there is a bit less headroom for the glass. More so for the rear passengers.

Another issue with glass can be additional glare from above. Sometimes my Tesla screen was hard to see with bright sun.

At night there’s more glare from the street lights. More so on the highway. Not too noticeable though until someone like me points it out. Lol.

I had convertibles all my life. I figured I’d enjoy the Tesla glass because of that but it did nothing for me.

I wouldn’t let a glass roof prevent me from selecting a model, but I wouldn’t pay extra for it either.

In the Mach-E with the Pano Roof option, you have MORE headroom than without it. 1.5" front and 1.1" rear.

I was disappointed when Fisker flopped. That had “California Mode” that opened the top glass almost all the way to the rear, all side windows and the rear glass as well. All at the press of a button.
Their pickup looked like it was going to be really cool.

I would not have selected the glass top as an option with the drivetrain (4wd) battery (extended range) I wanted...
but it's what was in stock.

Zero issues or regrets. Most of the time I don't give it a thought. Until wash day, when the top surface of the car is done MUCH faster than a sheet metal wash n polish would have taken:)

Seriously: looks great and not a day to day are of concern for this MME driver. Now...the center console user interface??? On that, I have some opinions!

I don’t really notice the glass roof. Can’t see out if it as the driver and don’t notice any temperature issues with it from 100+ to 0 deg F or colder.
I do wish there was a twin panel option though. I really enjoy windows down when the weather allows but the Mach E is pretty terrible to drive with the windows down. Maybe a twin panel open roof would have work better.
