The Fam had and was pleased with a 2001-ish Ford Ranger, a 2004-ish Ford Mustang convertible, and a 2017 Ford C-Max. Do you see a pattern?

Got a deal on a gorgeous red used 2021 Mach-E 24000 miles only 6 months ago from a famous local Ford dealership. Made an account here immediately because I was very exited to learn all the features. Don't think I ever came up with anything to ask that a lot of banging my head on YouTube couldn't answer though.

Now we're done. We want out and we are getting out one way or the other. Bluetooth as a key just stopped completely after a software update. Our phone's gleefully let us know we are connected successfully to the car. The car doesn't care. The whole touchscreen system freezes and reboots while you are driving it! The adaptive cruise malfunctions every day. If you have the cruise off it just annoys you with sensor fault messages and beeps. If the cruise is on, it cancels itself and starts slowing down on regen immediately. Basically the car randomly brake checks the car behind you. The app will ding our phones at 3 or 4 in the morning to let us know that sensor has a problem when not a soul has touched the car for hours. We all know the hands-free system is a joke. We all know that the Nav system is a joke. Which is made even more hilarious by the fact that those are subscription services that expires soon. Good riddance! If you want to get where you are going, Ford's maps ain't gonna cut it anyway. We all know that public charging is possible in a pinch, but never works on the first try, 2nd try, sometimes 3rd try. You'd better get all of the 3rd party charging apps if you are planning on going on any trip. And don't bank on being able use the 1st one you can reach, better have a back-up plan!

Sometimes the driver side window can't roll itself up. Note that it's only the auto-up feature. It always works when you do it the old fashioned way. I didn't even know that was possible to malfunction! The motor obviously works and moves the window just fine. It just cannot activate the auto-up when you least expect it. In other words, you can roll all of the windows down from your phone app. But when you roll them all back up from same app, they all go up except the driver's. Get in and start the car. You can still roll the window up normally. Note that you'd better have the key to start it. Just because your phone app can remote start it or move the windows in no way implies that the Bluetooth as a Key function will actually work. But be careful. If you are just treating it like a very expensive luxury car , you might hit the auto-up manually. The window will jog up a little bit and then stop. So if you are in a hurry and in the habit of driving functional cars, this one might get rained in for a while because you didn't notice the window moved but didn't finish the auto-up. I didn't know that I needed to constantly double-check that but now I do.

Well today, only about 6 months in, we inquired about its trade-in value. Big mistake! The car is more valuable at the bottom of the ocean than it is in our driveway. Ford wants to say it has to take value hit because it's not getting any younger. That's nice. Please tell us when do you plan to start beta testing the cars for the 2021 model year? Are any of the advertised conveniences going to be functional and stable before anyone gets them paid off? The dealership offers a 72 hour return and swap policy with no questions asked. That's fantastic when Ford is going to break the car remotely with software updates a couple weeks later.

So is it all Mach-E's with issues or just ours? Not that it really matters. Either way it will be a cold day in Hell before we make another payment on this one. Proudly financed through Ford Motor Credit - they can come pick it up at their convenience. There's an old saying that's key here.
If you owe a bank $10 thousand and can't pay it, you have a problem. If you owe a bank $10 million and can't pay it, they have a problem. Well when a $50k car isn't even worth $10k as spare parts, FORD has a big problem and they cannot say we didn't give it an honest shot.

Anyone want to buy it? It's very pretty and red and doesn't have any panel fit issues like a Tesla! We're willing to part with it for just the payoff amount.

Dude, your glass is not half empty - I am not sure if it even has a drop in it! I am sorry you are having problems. Time to sell a car and use some of the money for a therapist - seriously! 2022 GT with zero issues! (Lucky I know but please get on with your life and get rid of this car if it is dragging you down this badly!)

Thanks but I just edited and added some real $ amounts here. Absolutely no one on the planet, including Carvana, will take this without a $20k hit on the payoff. And even if they did, I would go straight to Hell for letting them walk into this.

The famous local Ford dealership worked on a $20k hybrid with a trade in on this and the payment was like $900 a month with a large down payment. Note also that we had already picked the car we wanted, but it was at a Ford lot in the next town over. The dealer called them for us and said that a couple had it out on a test drive so it wasn't available at the moment but they did have similar models in different colors locally. We test drove one. They did the typical scummy dealer thing and didn't tell us how bad they were going to ruin us on the trade-in until after they wasted our time test driving.

Eventually walked out of there. But they haven't seen the last of me. They are going to keep this Mach-E in their service department until they either admit they can't even begin to fix it or they process the repo. I couldn't care less which. They had better hope that we cannot request a loaner car during this period. We don't need one at all. Honestly, it will just be in our way. But by God we are going to take it if we can for the full duration of working through the FULL LIST of everything we know is wrong.

Drove straight to the other Ford dealer. Told them the real situation and that I came in to buy a car TODAY! Told them my credit was great but not for much longer over this mess. Told them that I was never making a payment on that Mach-E again. Done! No problem. Same day. No money down. My wife was jaw-dropped. I said they get it. They probably pull exactly the same shenanigans every day. But when you tell a salesman you came to buy TODAY, they have a simple question to ask themselves. Do you want to sell a car or not? By the way, they had to give the car a good wash before we test drove it - didn't seem like anyone had asked about it in a while.

Obviously, my wife will never buy another Ford again. This was just a "never stuck driving the Mach-E again car" before they screw with my credit. Why did I go with a Ford again? The 2017 C-Max was a great car at a great price. That happens with Ford hybrids because they can't hold their value like any other hybrid. Ironic that the same problem that disqualifies them from being a high end car gives them this advantage on the lower end.

Well I think somebody is already going there for letting you walk into it!

If you bought it certified pre-owned from Ford, you should have a warranty. Take it back to the dealer with your list of issues. I have a few minor gripes about mine (like PAAK occasionally not working) but nothing like you are experiencing.

Many of the issues are likely fixed by having the dealer update all your software.

But telling everyone your car sucks and you hate it isn’t going to help resale much. ?

At least you bought used.

I think I've read more here about your test drive of another car than any updates on what the service department has said about your specific issues. Are they actually working on it? How long have they had it?

If you haven't figured it out... this is not expected behavior. And by that I more specifically mean that if you have that many issues, there is something very wrong - and I just can't tell if you've made any real attempt to have any of it addressed previously. It feels to me (and this is just an impression I'm getting from your posts) that you might be walking into the service department and dumping this massive rant on them and expecting them to just hand you back a fixed car that afternoon - when really they're probably just standing there like "could you just slow down and breathe and tell us what is actually wrong?".

I am so confused. I tried reading through your rant. Are you saying that the dealership can't fix your issues? I have 2021 purchased used last summer. I did my research, and insisted that the dealership install all available software updates as a requirement for me to purchase the vehicle. At the time I got it for $39,000. It had 21,000 miles on it. I did have a front camera fault issue about a month into ownership, that caused all kinds of havoc with the blue Cruise usage. I work with my local dealer took it back a couple of times, ended up getting everything replaced under warranty that dealt with that camera. Issue is fixed no problem whatsoever since. Then I had a couple of HVbjb issues with the second one being fixed with the recall and no issues since.

I do have the occasional Bluetooth issue, I did have an instance where one of my windows did not roll up automatically I had to hold the button to roll it up. Turning the car off and back on the problem went away and never came back.

We all know the reason behind the diminished value of our cars. Primarily you can thank Elon Musk for that. But to say that you're going to allow the car to be repossessed is a bit over the top IMO. Do you really want to ruin your credit for the next 7 years?

I don't know if you have covered what the dealer has done as far as trying to repair the vehicle. I don't even have a clear picture is how much you paid for this car. I just think with the right dealership and patience you'll end up having most issues resolved.

You paid $50k for a used MME 6 months ago and now they’re offering you $10k for trade? You’re getting ripped off on both ends.

If you bought it used 6 months ago, it should not be as bad. The 1st owner took the major hit already. And the problem you described are not even that bad. Well, there are always the type of customer one cannot satisfy.

I really don't get the let it repo mentality. Should just cut the loss and sell it to Carmax and be done with Ford.
