More notes on 6.6.0 experience:
  • …. Brake pedal may be hard when first starting the car as a side effect, but not a big deal..
I have this as well, and I’m on 6.4.0. It showed up for me sometime in the whole 6.x.0 series of OTAs…

This is just an educated guess, so take this as you will but:

Ford is an obscenely old, large company stuck in bureaucracy and red tape. My guess is that ANYTHING that goes out to the public has to pass through a legal and/or PR team. This would include release notes.

At this point the OTA team is so far behind schedule and promises made to the public, they're cutting out as much red tape as they can to just get the dnag updates out. So if they can bypass the red tape involved with release notes to save some time, they will.

Again, just a guess on my part, but if I'm correct, I agree with their decision. The fact that all that red tape exists is ridiculous and stupid, but it's a reality and I think pushing the update sooner with no notes is a lesser evil than getting delayed even further for the sake of "approved by legal release notes"
Having worked in a very large household name corporation, I concur with your guess. The time needed to get stuff through approvals can feel endless...

I still can't believe I haven't gotten this update yet. I've always been within the first wave of these 5.x and 6.x updates.

Does anyone know what the final component version number is for BC 1.3 to be released? Is it 6.6.0? I may spring for a brief FDRS license if the OTA for 2021's remains borked.

Trying to figure out if it's worth renewing BC - there are virtually no roads that I travel that recognize that but that may change in the next 3 years and make it worth it. I also want to see if there are map updates with 1.3 that improve my area, which has many roads (like Rte 50) where BC would easily work geographically.

My iPhone is not connecting automatically since the 6.6.0 update. Anyone having the same problem? I can turn off and back on bluetooth on the phone and it will connect but it's a PITA. I was hoping phone connectivity issues were a thing of the past...

108.2.1

Keep in mind that BlueCruise handsfree will never work on roads that aren't divided. I don't know Route 50, but when I Google it a picture shows a non-divided road with one lane in each direction. Therefore, it will never have handsfree driving.

Route 50 on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, where I live, is largely a divided road with 2 lanes each way.

Largely? It can't have any cross-traffic.
