You're not alone in your confusion. So many people make "jokes" about OTAs, bugs, Ford not paying their internet bill, etc., that real, helpful information often gets lost in all the stale "comedy."

I can only speak for myself in that my '23 installed 6.8.0 a few weeks ago with no problem, first time. I have asked on this thread if anyone has noticed a common link with all the cars that have had this one fail, but with no response. I'm guessing there is some common connection on the owner's end, but it is pure speculation on my part. I'm no engineer or mechanic, but it seems that there has to be something if it's working for me and others.
Mine installed first time in mid December and has been fine. Nothing since though

The commonality for me, Scott, Zack, and Grumbles (??) is that we all have J1 2021 cars. I don't know if the MY is the key or the timing of when the update was pushed to us. The issue seemed to be with downloading the data. It never got to the point of actually trying to install the update. There was a hypothesis that the root cause was a server issue, but 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️
My first fail was on 1/22/24.

@ChasingCoral - for the next Power-Up poll it might be useful to use the multi-select option instead of single. this way folks can tick off the updates as they come in and we can see progress even if they get broken up into the smaller 2x-PUyyyy-foo-bar deployments.

Back in late January, Steve (Blue highway) and I also asked about this over in the "Post here if you have an active FDRS account" thread. Javier replied to him "The OTA failed...at the same stage of the OTA process. After the interrogator posts the log, the manifest gets posted for the files to be verified before the download. The problem seems to be on Ford's side."

I also have a 21 J1; looks like Blue highway does too.

Perhaps. There are pros and cons. You've pointed out one advantage too going that way. However, doing single entry shows the ebb an flow from early Power Ups to later ones in the sequence, and even to the Priority Updates.

I could also limit votes to just two or three choices. That may be the best of both worlds. Maybe "Choose 2, your current 7.x and your current PU.xxx"?

the flow can be seen with all listed as multi-select option easily. as more folks get the power-ups they'll all have marks for the 7.x numbered ones and we can see how many actually get each PUxxxx update.

if you try to limit it to some number you'll be guessing how many might appear. for example, in the 6.x series i've had 6 different 23-PUxxxx updates and only 5 6.x.y numbered updates.

How do you tell what release you have, where do you look on the menu? And same for Blue Oval. My car is trying to install an update, but it failed twice so far.

Just got 6.7 after no updates for about 2 months. Hoping that means updates are flowing again toward bc1.3.

Same with me.

Did you have the frunk button in FordPass working before 6.7? I did, and don't understand the point of this update for any car newer than 21 Job 1. Unfortunately, my frunk opening mechanism is broken, and I can't even test what this update does to it.

Yes, my frunk button worked before this update.

Ok, sorry if this is a dumb question, new to this forum and I tried to search and read before posting. I know the only way to see your current software is through the FordPass app / car settings after an OTA update, and my most recent one was the AM Radio update a few days ago (23-PU0907-RAD-ON). I've received a number of updates in the past month, but they all seemed to be "23-PU" updates (Smart charging, radio settings, etc). Is there an way to see what 6.X update I am on? Maybe even based on what features were added in those general updates? For instance, I have a frunk button both in the app and in the car. Is that indicative of having at least 6.X, or is there no way of knowing?
I just bought the car last month and love it so far, just trying to parse through the information and figure our where I am on the OTA updates as I am the kind of person who will track this all going forward!

2023s were delivered that way so it doesn't say anything about your update status.

What was the build date on your 2023? Do you know what Blue Cruise package your MME had on delivery?

6.x has primarily been bringing older vehicles up to the most recent BC.

Ahh - Ok I think this is what I was not understanding. Date on my driver door is 11/22. Not sure how to check the BC version on delivery, but none of the updates I've received so far say they are BC related.

All of 6.x is BC related. The recent Priority Updates are not. 6.x is bringing advanced BC to older Mach Es that are currently running BC 1.0. It is also prepping newer Mach Es for updated BC as well.

BC 1.2 was introduced in MY2023 Mach Es. Those built 5/23 and later have Blue Cruise 1.3.

That means your 11/22 build has BC 1.2.
