For those in the boycott stages. Just think how it's going to work out when you re-enable it. It's still going to walk through 6.8 to get to 6.<whatever> and probably do it slower as it appears Ford controls the cadence at the server side. So blocking it now might keep you sane, but you or someone you might know will have to deal with it for a week or more most likely.
When my car took a vacation at the beginning of the year it was actually blocked for 2 months from even bothering to try to download anything, it threw some canceled status and gave up.
I don't see them ever working on cumulative roll up (like Windows and it's massive package of updates).

I don't care about driving aids or BC, I never use either. They broke how I wanted to use MY CAR without any warning or input FROM ME, the OWNER. Most of the updates have done nothing all that useful over the last 16 months of owning the car anways. Wireless Carplay and PAAK have constant issues and I pretty much deem them unusable.

You must have missed the part in the Eula where it said things will change or be removed without notice. Keep an eye out for the release notes that they fixed carplay for you and only try to install that one update.

For those complaining about the speedometer in 6.8... Imagine driving a tesla if you think this placement is bad..
That the Mach-E has an IPC is the reason I am driving one today (and not a Tesla).

So how do you tell what drive mode the car is in when you start your trip with 6.8.0? The Mach E does not default to Engage so if I have been driving in Unbridled and my wife gets in, and I forgot to change it back it will be bad leaving the garage.

To me there in no change in the display until you get up to speed.

The good news is the drive mode makes virtually zero difference.

For me it's more, there is a useless, unmoving, unanimated doesn't-even-look-like-my car icon. If there were some actual real use of the icon, I'd get it, but it literally doesn't do anything :p
There is some use to the car icon… if you turn on the cool safety features you paid for. :)

@Ford Motor Company - I’m not trying to run your business, but can you make the BC update rollout a higher priority than… this?

I don’t like to use the term never as it’s rarely actually correct. In this case, however, I’ll never care about losing BC 1..4 and whatever it brings to the game. There are zero BlueCruise roads here and never will be any. Never. Further, ACC/BCHO works on average for less than 15 minutes on an hour long drive. It’s not worth the hassle of watching it cycle off and on throughout the drive.

It’s actually a high priority. The rollout has issues just get to the ready for EAP cars phase and has had issues since. It could be much worse.

One day BC will be expanded to city streets and single lane rural highways. Never say never! ?

Are you on O'ahu? I thought H1/H2/H3 etc. were controlled access roads built to interstate standards. Even if not mapped today for hands free, they could be in the future.

Well one of the benefits of BC 1.4 is apparently it goes much, much, longer without disconnecting than 1.0. Presumably this also applies to BC without handsfree, though that probably has to be confirmed.

Oahu? No.

But you are correct about the H-1 through -3. They are mapped but all are short. The H-1 is officially the freeway with the worst traffic in the nation. We refer to it as the H-1 parking lot. Average speed? Around 30 mph on much of it. Taking surface roads is almost always faster.

The second most populous island is Hawaii Island. In the general vicinity of 200,000 residents. Zero BC roads, zero divided controlled access roads and none will be built. Maui is a distant third in population and also has no qualifying roads. It’s an island chain, finding room for a freeway is impossible and there are many other considerations.

Buttttt… you live in Hawaii. Nobody feels sorry for you. ;)
