'Precondition Now' Button

Would you still want a "Precondition Now" button if you had to wait 45 minutes or longer?

You have the functionality right, but below freezing (i.e. near 30F) is very different from -10F.
Ok, didn't realize that it took that long to precondition on a L2 charger even at those temps. That being said, I'd love to have the functionality no matter what the time

Departure settings are supposed to precondition your battery, not just your cabin. Are we talking plugged in or not plugged in? When I'm on my charger, it's 15 minutes
I believe you are correct that the departure settings condition both. However, if the car is plugged in with departure times set and the car is in sub freezing temps I believe the pre conditioning runs a lot longer than 15 minutes.

Okay. I would guess that none of this really applies to a garaged car in Georgia. Your battery is probably up to temp before it even starts to do anything.
My garage is probably 40 degrees when outside temp is 20-25 degrees

Please answer the poll considering that it might take an hour or longer to fully precondition a cold car in the winter (that's just how long it takes to warm up both the battery and cabin). If you left early, the cabin would still be cold because the battery is heated first.

Scenario: You wake up in the morning and want to go somewhere unexpectedly (and you didn't have a departure time set). You hit the "Precondition Now" button in FordPass around 8 AM, and you are told you have to wait until about 9 AM. How does this make you feel? Would you wait or not?

This is my vision of what such a feature might look like in FordPass. The "View Chargers" button would turn into "Precondition Now" when you are plugged in. When you hit the precondition button, the battery would start heating and FordPass would display the estimated time to finish. While running, you'd have the option to stop preconditioning or switch to remote start (cabin heating only).

Not another one of Mach-Lee’s April fools I’ve just fallen for ?

It’s an inspired idea!

I’d use a pre-condition now button especially as settings NEVER work when set up on the ‘phone App?

Even when a journey is planned, and pre-condition was never going to work in morning for an early get-go, I’d be far happier starting pre-condition on this button whilst I’m getting ready to go out.

I had a precondition take 80 minutes, and the garage was in the 20s as I recall. NEVER, ever, would it take 15 minutes.

So, just to be clear. You set a departure time for tomorrow morning, leave at 7AM. You watch the charger / charger app / FordPass and no current is pulled until 6:45?

Question is will this one button actually work?

Did not vote and I do not need a button with a schedule. Just need scheduling to actually work which it did not all last winter. I have all modules pretty much updated at this point and it continues not to work. I vote that they get what we have working before going on to something else. I wake up knowing that the schedule I sent to the car last night actually made it to the car and will work. It can come on before I wake up don't care. Right now the chances of it making it to my car are slim to none.

I haven't looked at my charger app to see if it's started charging but Fordpass app doesn't show Preconditioning starting until 15 minutes prior.

Yes, I would use it, but...

In reality, we NEVER go on a lengthy drive without planning.

More relevant, setting a Departure Time for this Friday, leaving on a trip, and then REMEMBERING to go back and delete it, is really annoying. You should be able to check "One-Time" or "Reoccurring".

So you have no idea when the session actually started, correct?

My charger tells me if the car is pulling juice, so I can clearly see that.

That would be a good addon for scheduling "only once" check mark. I hit charge to 100% before leaving on long trips to warm all up and so it does not sit at 100% too long.

The only thing that can come of this is a good change. Who cares if you precondition now and leave before its ready? Its warmer than it would be without the precondition now feature
