Odd thing, don’t know if it’s related, but 2 days after this update car made different chimes for things, anything super glitchy like this leads me to believe another update is soon to be pushed.

Honestly, I’m at a point where I expect any of these updates could factory reset the car. It would irritate, but I would just move on, set everything back up, would thanks like 15 minutes, tops.

I know what you're talking about, but the ACM update didn't add it. They can add things like that separately without it being an OTA. The timing is just coincidental. Some people got the feature before the ACM OTA has happened.
I'm in the EA and don't know what's being talked about. I have noticed one new thing lately, and I don't think it's this. If I'm in the EA is there a place where I can see a list of EA updates where I can keep up on this stuff instead of trying to discover it myself?

This car gets better everyday! I was talking to a friend last night who got an EV6 same time I got my MME. He said now he thinks he made the wrong choice. His quote was "Ford seems like the only one truely in the game and competing with Tesla" specifically about software updates, NCAS charging, but then he also regretted the smaller size and a few other items.
People also like their Rivians a lot I think. Ford's software updates leave a lot to be desired, and the UI/UX these days is terrible compared to Tesla. But I'm still very glad I own the MME instead of a Tesla or EV6.

Yeah, that has worked for some people in the past.
Add me to the list of people who have had success with running car in the driveway for 3+ hours to get an inhibit update to break through. I really wish that Ford would give better feedback when the LVB was the issue, since we don't know the required SOC for each update as they are different.

Oh wow, I never knew it even did that at one point. That’s my partners biggest complaint is that it doesn’t grab the profile based on PaaK and we only use PaaK (our key stays at home).
It wasn't my imagination that it used to do that? Good, because I was starting to second-guess myself.

Mine failed this morning. I think this is the first time it has failed to update. I am pretty sure it is because the LVB is low - my car has been sitting around a lot lately with only a few short local drives here and there.

It would be nice if the message about the failed update actually included the failure condition.

Anyway, I am going to charge up the car, and as soon the charge is finished, I will try the update again. The LVB should get pumped up during the charge.
They added an update last year that said it is SUPPOSED to give you better feedback on why an update fails, but only a few people on this forum have seen evidence of that.

I wonder if it fixes being able to save the higher XM channels. I can never get my sports team to save. When get back into the car the next time the image is there, but doesnt go to it.
It's not an issue with the radio. I have the same problem. The sports play-by-play channels are inactive till JUST before the game. So you see the logo since the channel is reserved, but the inactive channels default back to the last channel you were on if the game isn't starting imminently. Also, they used to switch the channels around all the time and not reserve a specific channel for a specific team. Glad they stopped that nonsense.

That's why I turned my headlights off before getting out of the car. It is very interesting you were notified regarding the reason for the failure.
I've seen this help me before one time as well. Which is so odd since my lights are always on auto.

Mach E AC charging maxes out at 48A.

48A x 240v = 11.52kw theoretical max
You need a 60A circuit to achieve the full 48A, as far as I've read. I'm definitely no expert, but a 50A circuit is supposed to not deliver a full 48A to the car via EVSE I think. I'm sure somebody here knows better. But they were talking about the circuit in that case, not the vehicle draw.

Back in June 2023 I had 23-PU0105-DC-CHG2 fail to install 8 times. I then did the LVB learned values reset procedure, and the the next attempt to update succeeded. So, I don't think it was just a coincidence. I'm on my factory original LVB, BTW.
What is this procedure you speak of? Maybe it will make my LVB not be a bitch on every single update.

Lol same here.

Totally messed up my presets (for XM), also defaulted to an AM station with static.

So ironic that the only purpose was to NOT mess up the presets and that’s all it did.

None of these XM stations were ever in my presets. Sinatra and Buffet twice? Lol
I think those are the defaults because they are the same channels, in the same positions, that I get every time I get my presets screwed up by OTA.

Got this yesterday. Did not mess up my radio presets (no update ever has) but it did reset all of my settings so it was the first time an update charged me to 100%. Guess I get to drive around a bunch tonight to get my battery down below 90ish.
While I understand we aren't supposed to charge to 100% regularly to prolong the life of the HVB, why would you need to go out and drive to get it down below 90%? It's not some sort of emergency, and it's not going to hurt your HVB to just have it charge to 100% once.

Technically, a low-duration 48A load on a 50A circuit is just fine. It's the sustained loads that the act of charging an EV places on the circuit that are the issue. In the case of a sustained load, the circuit needs to support at least 125% of the sustained load in order to safely support the load. Since the vehicle hasn't a clue about the dimensions of the wires leading from the panel to the EVSE are, the EVSE needs to be limited to 80% or less of the circuit rating. ??

All this update did was wipe all of my radio presets (never happened on any other update) Great work Ford. Maybe consider hiring actual programmers?

thanks I think that’s exactly what I was going for / what I heard without knowing all the details.

It’s not the updates doing that. That setting never sticks after turning off the car.
I’m talking about “Ask on Exit”. Once I turn it off, it never turns back on until there’s a OTA update.

Got this last night. Weird, I now have the Frunk button in FP. Must be a happy coincidence (backend server change?). 21 Job 1, now feature complete after 2 years of ownership.

It looks like module configurations are getting reported back to Ford’s servers after an update is applied OTA. In turn, this updates Ford’s back-end, allowing the Frunk button to populate in the FP app. ??

Same boat as a lot of people here. Job 1 car, XM presets vanished into thin air along with weird startup-sounding chime when I opened the door and propulsion sound turned on.

Ah, yes. That setting does get reverted often with updates.
Way too often. Mine got wiped again with this radio presets update.
