I'm having trouble getting my PremiumCare plan cancelled and refunded. I purchased my Mach E back at the end of June and initially bought PremiumCare with the vehicle. However, I realized after the fact that what the dealer charged me was 3 times what I could get the plan for elsewhere and that you don't need to purchase the extended service plans right when you buy the car, so I wanted to cancel and get it back at a later time.

July 2nd was the first time I requested cancellation of my plan via email. I also verbally spoke with my salesman who assured me that cancellation was just an easy electronic form that they could email me and then they'd refund me the balance for the plan. However, it has been a complete run around for a month now. Each time I've communicated with him, I was told things like "it's a simple process, but first we need to officially close out the deal" or "the woman who handles that is out on vacation until the end of next week," etc. After two and a half weeks of this, I decided that I would try going to Ford directly and they were able to cancel it almost immediately.

Now I have just been waiting for the dealership to refund the plan's purchase price and surprise, surprise it's a long fight. For two weeks, I've been trying to get any bit of information about the refund. I've been communicating with my salesman who seems to be dragging his feet. I have tried calling the guy in the finance office numerous times and have left four voicemails with him, yet have never been able to get any type of communication back from him. At the end of last week, I also tried emailing and leaving a voicemail for the general manager of the dealership to no avail (yet).

I called Ford's ESP people on Friday and they even tried to call the finance guy and left a voicemail on my behalf. They also suggested I just go into the dealership and try to speak with someone, but I bought the car in Pennsylvania and live in Georgia, so that's out. Does anyone else have any suggestions on how to get this refund from the dealership?

Send an email to the general manager, the sales manager, the financing manger. Put all 3 on the same email.

Normally these types of plans have a 30 day window to cancel them. They were probably trying to wait you out.
I tried to help a friend get their service plan canceled from a Subaru dealership. I could tell the finance guy was being really shady. Big surprise the plan never got canceled.

You did good contacting Ford directly, I’m surprised they are making the dealership refund it.

"Still waiting for the refund on my cancelled extended warranty. I've spoken to people, left messages, had Ford call them. Next step is the Better Business Bureau and then small claims court." 1 Star, don't do business with them.

In situations like this regardless if they are stalling or not it's wise to document they received the notice you want to cancel. Send a typed up letter via CERTIFIED mail. Normally having to acknowledge they received it to a mail carrier gets them to realize it's not an issue that's going to get dropped. And later if you need documented proof, you have it.

I actually did this 4 days ago, tagged Ford, and they did not respond at all. ?

You can cancel at any time. Usually, the 30 day window is just for a full refund, and it's prorated after that. But even the prorated amount will be close to a full refund at 60 or 90 days.
