I didn't read all the comments so my suggestion could have been covered. I have been using blend mount for years. They mount to the rear view mirror stem and the radar is visible just below the rear view mirror.

Very high quality, very adjustable, very solid, not a cheap piece of s$-t

I've used a blend mount in the past for my other vehicles and its worked great, but unfortunately, it most likely won't work well with the Infrared-Reflective (IRR) windshield of the Mach-E, since the mount will place the radar detector too low.

The only area that's not covered with the IRR coating is the dotted area around the rear-view mirror, and that's where everyone has been trying to position their radar detector.

I have one and a Uniden r3 with no issues

Very surprising! I will just leave this here... I'm not doubting your own results, but I'm hesitant on investing in a blendmount if it specifically won't work with a Mach-E 2023 with IRR and a Uniden R8.

I switched to the headliner mount (and it’s far better than the permanent mount in terms of how flat it sits), but my radar is a bit wobbly still. How are folks wedging something in between to prevent sagging?

Note for owners of the Rally GT - Because it has the steel roof, Ford decontented the IRR shielded glass, you y'all can mount your radar where you like without regards for the "communications window". I get 360 alerts on all bands from my Uniden R8 mounted just below the communications window using the standard Uniden bracket and powered by a mirror tap.

I'm using a visor mount on the headliner.
I put a firm piece of foam to fill the gap, you can wedge your fingers up above the headliner to pull the detector up tighter and keep the foam out of sight. Just shove your fingers between the windshield and headliner, there's enough give, it won't break anything.
