Maybe a heat pump will help....I'll see myself out.
"will" being the operative word there, since heat pumps only start getting added to the MME for MY2025.

Buy an EV to fight global warming… which performs significantly worse in cold weather.

Ford Mustang Mach-E Range degeneration? 1733152445015-ho

Or maybe “irony” is just proof that whomever is designing The Simulation has a sense of humor.

Have you insured you are only using pure Sin waves? The more pure they are the more range you get.

“Sin waves…” Freudian slip?

I would like to ask the OP what their charging regimen is? Do you charge to 80% or 90% and do you ever charge to 100%. I've read on other threads that charging to 100% once in a while (some say above 90%) causes battery balancing which helps to restore some of the apparent loss of range. I charged to 99% last week and it did seem to increase range shown on GOM a little.

Note: I live in Southern California so we don't get anything people would call cold. I also don't drive much so I only charge about once per week. I have noticed the GOM showing slightly lower range but I wasn't sure if that was related to it getting cooler or to a short freeway drive where the range display on the GOM dropped when the NAV routed me on the freeway and didn't really recover when I got back to travel on surface streets.

I am starting to track actual miles traveled vs. miles subtracted from the GOM. Take readings from both and compare after a day’s use. I suspect that the GOM is conservative and we are actually getting more range than it reflects.
Car is only a month old and this is part of my learning process.

Sine waves can be pure.
Sin waves cannot.

This is our third winter with our 2021 and yes I see a range deterioration and yes I agree with the comments about the GOM. It makes calculations based on temperature, past driving habits etc. Our Mach e is always kept in a heated garage, about 50 degrees in Minnesota. As soon as we take it out for a drive, in our now-lower than 20 degree ambient temps it recalculates range and it will also change your range if you enter a trip address.

So, bottom line, your GOM range is a variable based on many factors. Currently, according my sync trip screen, roughly 25% of our battery power goes to heat the cabin and batteries. It has been like this since day one and I consider it normal.

Question; Does anyone out there now what the story is about the alleged reserve battery capability. I am under the impression that they Mach e has a reserve of 20%. My question is, does that mean if we drive the GOM range to 0, we will still have 20% left. If so does that mean you can keep on driving or does the vehicle stop at GOM 0 range?

Went to thanksgiving dinner at my son's house. His mother-in-law was asking me questions about our EV. She wanted to know how often we had to replace the batteries on the car.
I think she thought it was like a flashlight. :)

will keep it from popping back up every time someone wants to add another joke and let it die a quick and mostly painless death.
Yes. Good idea but any such threads will still go on and on and it won’t prevent any threads from happening again in the future. “I searched but couldn’t find anything.” (A valid complaint btw given the forum search limitations).

The other problem is when those thread is started by a multi year owner who has been through this before. I categorize those into the “Are you SURE I didn’t get the wrong battery?” threads.

Maybe instead, we can just redirect such questions each fall to the Norwegian mach-e owners. Or to those residing in Drumheller. :)
