Rear wiper delete?

Fishing for thoughts on doing a rear wiper delete? I realize I would have to put a plastic cover on the nut, but I think it may be a cleaner look without the wiper. I rarely use it (I live in Phoenix). What do you think? Anybody skilled enough to do a photoshop render?

I never use mine either. On my Focus Electric, I bumped the switch by accident while cleaning the car and it took me about 10 minutes to figure out how to turn that off. I actually had to get out the Owner's Manual.

How about just popping it off and see what you think? If you don't like it then just put it back on there?

I use mine regularly.

Why? It’s a feature. Some poor engineer at Ford toiled long hours to design and perfect this thing. It would be disrespectful to not use it.*

* - in other words, I keep bumping that switch.

On a serious note @dsalad, be sure to consider your required state safety inspections, if any. A missing rear wiper, even as anemic as this one, could be enough to down the car.

Sad to say, but Arizona doesn't appear to be very strict. They will allow anything on the roads here.

Clear windows are a safety element and are required to improve awareness of your surroundings.

The car is not designed with the right slope that allows you to delete the wiper. Model Y has a much gradual incline in the back that allows the air flow to clear the window. Some vehicles have spoilers with cutouts that flow air along the lift gate window. And wipers that are tucked below the upper spoiler don’t clear the window enough for the right level of visibility. ??‍

No need to use Photoshop. I used Photos on my iPhone (default photo app) to erase the rear wiper. The car does look much cleaner without it. Looks like I may have another project to work on down the road...

I do use mine occasionally. The back window does get pretty dirty here. But, honestly, I don't think I'd miss it. It only does the lower part of the window. I use my side mirrors more anyway. And for backing up there's the camera. Yeah, the camera. I try to remember to wipe that off when I get out.

I use mine. When it’s raining. Imagine that. I also have been using a Trico 15 inch blade since about 3 days after I got the car. Mo Bettah.

Same here, and the presence of a rear wiper is one of the things that put the Mach-e so high on my list of candidates when I was shopping. I drive down too many rainy or gravelly roads to consider rear wipers optional equipment! I do sometimes wish Ford had placed it at the top of the hatch instead of the bottom, though - It'd look so much cleaner hidden under the spoiler lip!

I will say that one of the first things I noticed about it (after noting that the stock wiper was too damn short) was how much quieter that rear wiper is than my VW eGolf's was!
