They didn’t say it was 2 days. Specifically they said I could keep the loaner until my car is ready.

I’m not super confident they’ll have all the parts in stock, but we shall see.

Seems like not a lot of dealers participate in the mobile service program.
Your dealer didn’t. Ford did.

I had my appointment for today, and they were able to complete all work except for the HVBJB as the part is on backorder until February. They ordered through the appropriate process (allegedly.)

Ford Mustang Mach-E Recall 23S56 - HVBJB Replacement / Powertrain Software Update giphy

Either they did not order through the right process, or availability might be a challenge. Since it's January 2nd, and letters were not supposed to start being sent until December 29th, it's plausible that we're still on the early ramp of supply chain availability. Or they did not follow the process.

Otherwise, it did take some back and forth for them to get on the same page (parts, EV tech, and the service manager,) so I suspect I was the first one who attempted to go through the process.

They were very friendly and supportive, but I could tell the process was new. They've done replacements before (I've asked them in the past,) so it's not a technical/skill issue - most likely a process one.

The part is allegedly tagged to me, so they'll notify me when it's in and schedule service accordingly.

Was told last week Thursday that the part was on order, to be delivered today, and at 12:00 was "in transit should be delivered by this afternoon". At 2:00 pm, "the part they shipped is not the correct part. The one for your vehicle is now on order but will not arrive til Feb 2".

I wonder if Ford did prioritize GT HVBJB’s as mine was ordered and arrived last week for Jan 23 appointment. The few comments I have seen for delays have been for Premium models.

I actually got reply from service advisor and he said parts were in stock, so we'll see next week.

That's what I am somewhat suspecting, but they're different part numbers, but it could be the same manufacturer making both and GTs are in front of the line.

I just got my vehicle back, and they resolved the BCM update (23B50) as well as the parking brake harness (22P31, which should've been done a long time ago, but they still showed it as open on their end.)

"All software updates" were performed, but they weren't. I'm still on 6.6.0, and still have my Android Bluetooth telephone audio issue. I don't have a Frunk button in FordPass, but I'll check the car here in a bit. I'll see if other little annoyances have been fixed that should be resolved via software, but I suspect not. My guess is that updates were performed in the context of those two items above, not anything else since they did not have the HVBJB in-stock.

They will only do software updates that have open recalls or CSPs, others will come OTA unless there's another CSP for those in the future.

What dealer are you going to?
AutoNation St. Petersburg, that's who I've been going to for tire rotations and had them do one CSP software update for me previously, they sold a lot of Mach-Es, I know Walker is not going to be part of Model E last I heard.

Just confirmed with Santa Monica Ford that they only have/received for the GT models and that for the Premium back ordered until February. Service advisor "believes" it's because the Midwest/East Coast dealership got "priority". :)

Yep. I only called it out as they used the term "all software updates" several times today, and though I knew what they really meant and they met those expectations, but I wanted to see if they might actually perform them. To those not in IT or part of this forum, it can be confusing. It's pedantic, but one of the bits of training Ford (and all others) should perform is around how software updates work, what's covered, what's not.

Interesting. Pure speculation, but I wonder if there is correlation between weather changes and failures. Or people in the Midwest/East Coast have heavier feet

I thought you would probably go to the same dealer as me. They didn’t have the parts for my car. Maybe they already ordered yours.
