Should we make this? a bumper protector

After I saw the post in this section, I figure it's a good idea for us to discuss some product ideas under this sponsor section.

I am thinking to make a bumper protector in this area, should we make one? do you need it? let us know your thought. or if it's better to just make a pre-cut here?

If we make one, we will either use ABS plastic or Stainless metal, and we might make it into two pieces(to lower the cost on shipping, and thus a lower retail price. on the other hand, two pieces could also effectively prevent this product getting bent during shipping)

Pros of ABS
Able to have various designs, for example, carbon fiber, gloss black, matt carbon fiber.
Cons of ABS
Lower scratch resistant

Pros of Metal
Higher Scratch Resistant
Cons of Metal
the edge might a bit sharp since its a piece of metal, design will be sliver or matt sliver

I prefer metal but it needs to be black. There’s zero chrome on these cars.

Just a few thoughts - I have a similar item on my 2014 Prius V. It's made of matte black ABS and has faded somewhat, due to constant UV exposure. However, it's done the intended job (lots of scuba gear and tanks loaded) over the years. My prime wants would be 1) a design that minimizes scratches and 2) keeps its color. It may be too much to ask for a gloss black finish to maintain good looks over a long time. Bottom line - the ABS matte black one on your red car example is very similar to the one on my Prius and works well.

I used PPF on this area AFTER damaging the paint. Add this to my list of design tweaks... Assume owners are going to actually USE the cargo area and design the bumper accordingly.

I voted for ABS and $50-60.

I'll take 2... one for the Mrs. too.

I voted ABS but would prefer black metal. The chrome really would look out of place.

This is a great addition for anyone with a dog.

Had a black bumper protector on my MINI. It may have been a heavy vinyl. I loved it. It got pretty beat up over 16 years of usage but better the protector than the bumper.

we recently made a sample with chrome black 3 pieces stripe design, with this 3 pcs design, we could bring down the retail price to approximately 35-40. if we make it a one-piece design, the retail price will be abt 60-70$ since the shipping cost will be expensive in a one-piece design.
let us know how do you feel about this three pieces design bumper protector.

First, I have not received my car yet. I fully expect to purchase this item because I want to protect that area from the typical scuffing. Do the one that protects the best. If they are similar in protection, the less expensive would be your best choice.

The "chrome black" is just asking to be scratched up. A more scratch resistant finish would be very desireable in this application.
