Anyone got any recommendations on how I could soften the suspension? I prefer a softer, more luxurious ride given all the crappy roads around Dallas. My MME is a lot better than my model 3 and have played with tire pressure. Thought I read that someone installed standard range coils on the extended range and it made it softer. I don’t have full grasp of cost or how to do though. Just thought I’d see if any advice from someone who better understands the mechanics. Have a FE AWD if matters.

I know it is mechanical, but would be great if there was a software slider or something for the suspension.

lol I have the same problem. When I got east of 75 I wanna kill myself. Did you find a fix?
Any luck or suggestions here on the suspension? Between the concrete sections on the side streets and the curves on the DNT, the only thing I don't like about my Mach-e GT is the suspension. I'm coming out of an RS 5 and the Mach-e GT is very loose. Granted you sit a lot higher but between the body roll and then you hit a bump and it is now a body roll with a bounce. It is almost as if the suspension tuning was to provide constant sport mode but around Dallas it can feel like a bucking bronco.

I know right. I got used to it though or maybe it got softer with time...I am driving it since March.
Do you have the MagneRide on your GT? I heard it was better.

I have not experienced any bad body roll though or maybe I am not familiar enough with it and I don't notice?

I have the extended range model and the stiff suspension is a negative of my Mach-e. I found your comment because I was also searching for a way to soften the ride. The tire pressure is supposed to be set at 38- would it do any help or harm to set the pressure at 35?

I asked my dealership about that. They said because of the weight of the battery the stiffer ride is to keep it balanced and not fly all over the road and keep a better centre of gravity

There might be uneven tire tread wear if the pressure is low or high but in my experience, it isn't a big issue. I usually keep it 2 PSI lower than the recommended and it hasn't been a major issue after 20K miles (still on the factory tires). It helps a lot in reducing the bouncy nature of the ride at least in my experience.

Eibach GT springs.
Lower tire pressure (but if you go too low the tires will bounce like balloons)
Different tires.
I have probably over 50 hours of messing with this suspension. Above is my findings. They're documented over in the suspension sub forums.

There are no suspension miracles in the offering for this car, but people have had luck with both lifting and lowering springs.

I don't personally like the look of the lifted Mach E, so this week I installed Eibach GT performance springs on my '21 Premium Extended Range AWD. It has made a real difference in ride quality, which I noticed immediately. Ride height dropped by about 1", which so far hasn't caused any clearance issues during mixed driving and parking. (Also installed new sway bars, but that's less relevant here.)

The main thread I followed for a while before deciding to go for it:
Eibach GT performance springs on a 4xer

The GT model has its own thread, so search for that if (unlike OP and me) you have a GT.

We have had our 2023 MME for over a year now. Really love the car apart from the suspension. Is there a way to produce a softer ride without changing the hight? Maybe fit the 2025 springs and dampers which I believe may be differant?

Hi Tony, there are numerous posts about this and bottom line, no, there is not a way to soften the ride without changing the ride height. As far as changing springs and dampers to the '25 version, my recommendation to others that have asked this same question was to go take a test drive in a '25 that is the same model as your car and see if the difference is worth you spending $$$$. So far no one has done this nor have we seen any reviews that the '25's ride is significantly better than the past years. This is not a luxury car. It is a sporty SUV with almost the identical suspension as an ICE Mustang. It was never designed to ride smooth and has very little suspension travel. Changing out your springs for the OEM Rally springs which have a softer spring rate and are almost 1" taller would be your best bet and the least expensive route.

The most effective and easiest way is to change out the tires. If your car has 19" wheels change to a 245/50/19 105xl if 20" change to a 255/45/20 105xl and lower the pressure to 37psi. Both the sizes I mentioned above have a higher load rating. The higher load rating allows you to safely lower the pressure and still support the proper weight of the car.

I know it doesn't sound like a few PSI would make a significant difference but it does.

Also consider changing category tire pick a touring or grand touring for added comfort.

Manty thanks for the replies.
Yes, the tire option sounds like a good one. Maybe I will consider that when it's time to change tires.
I have been running my tyres at 38psi on the current setup but did not really notice any differance. We live in a part of the UK where the roads are particularly uneven with many potholes!

Same here, the city I live in lowered the speed limit to 20mph rather than fix the roads.

The factory tires do not have as comfortable ride as many aftermarket options.
