I ordered my GT on oct 29 the Ford communication was factual, got a update yesterday. Says it’s built and will be at the dealer in 2-3 was.
After being on this site I was told by one member said “get ready for a 9mo wait “ This is not the type of service I expected, if my gt is built in. 3 wks and arrive at the dealer in 2/3 wks what is with all the unhappy people who say that they are in some black hole of delivery?? Hey Ford thanks a lot for building my wildest dreams!!!!

Some people have a 9+ month wait due to delays in production dates, seatbelt holds, and chip holds. If your car is built and shipped, you got lucky and bypassed all of that.

If I get what is being said, the car is being built and will be ready soon. I would call that great news since I ordered mine on 01 Oct and my build date keeps getting pushed and is sitting at 28-Feb. Others are not getting their cars as soon as this. Congratulations on your GT coming so soon. Do the cha-cha dance and enjoy la dolce vita.

Your experience isn’t the common one. Some people have waited 9+ months to even a year or so. Many people’s vehicles have been shipped to arrive at rail yards and sit for 2-3 months unable to make it to dealers with no one to explain why.

I'm thinking GT's may actually be getting built faster than the Premiums. Could be that Ford is prioritizing the most profitable trim, could be since the GT is lower production they aren't having problems getting parts unique to the GT, could be luck.
The GT PE I ordered in mid October has a build date now of 3/11/22. So far, that hasn't slipped. Don't know if that helps answer your concerns.

I would say it actually sounds pretty common. But just like cars with zero problems, not many people come to post a thread about them.

The OP’s experience is just what happens when nothing goes wrong.

I was one of the common ones where nothing went wrong either. My car even showed up 2 weeks before the ETA.

Here is a huge list of thousands of orders. Time between order and delivery doesn’t seem as bad as people make it to sound. Especially more recently.

Certain trim lines are far more popular than others and have very long waits due to parts shortages made worse by the pandemic. Right now the Premium awd with the extended Ranger battery is by far in the highest demand. It will have the longest wait for parts. That’s what much of the wailing and gnashing of teeth is about.

Where the shipments are coordinated may make a difference. May depend on where you live more than amount of orders. They can’t all be sent at the same time in a million directions.
