What else am I supposed to do? The kids like to eat every day off to work I go.

Besides if my biggest concern is my $50k+ electric car may not start then I really don't have anything to be concerned about.

Driving by a gas station with $6 per gallon gas in Portland, Oregon goes a long way in reducing my concerns.

i don't want to start yet another HVBJB thread, there are a lot already ... but given those issues, any of you stopped doing your normal stuff, the daily commutes, the road trips?

i am seeking reassurance here!!!
I say this with all respect, but get off the forums. This is the only MME forum that constantly talks about this issue. There are tens of thousands of MME owners who have not experienced this issue and may never.

I would bet that many MME owners are not even aware this issues exists and drive their cars without knowing there is an issue.

This issue is real for some people, I'm not denying that and it's a big hassle for them. I'm compassionate for them. But we tend to get sucked into a vacuum and have herd mentality on forums.

I'm about it head for a 400km drive today with no concerns. Elevation change is 3000 feet. It's a nice sunny, summer day and she's going to be ridden hard.

As a member of the elite HVBJB club, still drive like I always have and even more now.

it’s going great, apart from the bottom cover needing to be tightened up yesterday. Dealer fixed it in 20 mins and away again.

We just drove to Tahoe from the Bay Area: +16,000 ft of climbing.

No problems (knock on wood)

I drive my car daily to work and back. Any excuse to drive my car. I like to drive the car, love the looks and the color, the improved (subwoofer) stereo and entertainment system rocks, love the instant power (with some restraint) and the fact that I am not buying gas. I just took a 400 mile trip over the fourth of July weekend, and had no reservations about driving the MME. Anything can happen at any time. I do not want to get stuck but I am not going to leave it in the garage until Ford fixes (I mean the real fix not the software patch) the vehicle.

Just did SF to South Lake yesterday as well. Used 75% of the battery and charged at the 350kwh EAv station right when we got into town. We're a 2 Mach E family so no real choice but to keep driving. Must've seen a dozen other Mach Es on the way up too.

I didn't buy a car from the 1970's. Reliability and performance should not be an issue I have to contend with. If I felt like I had to compromise my driving in any way, I'd sell the car.

So to answer the question, I just drive it.

Actually I just remembered two things I regrettably have to do differently with this car.

1. Thanks to the instant acceleration, even driving conservatively, my trombone in an old-style form fitting case tends to end up at the tailgate even when it starts the trip to the gig against the back seats. For the safety's sake, it's time to fashion some tie-downs I guess.

2. It's best to disable the rain-sensing wipers before washing the windshield at a gas station. Trust me on this.

I made zero changes. Using the car exactly as before. Haven’t given the HVBJB a second thought. Seriously. I have zero anxiety about this.

Same for us. Only car and EV life for us in the big state of Texas. We drive everyday. We have a 1000 mile road trip next weekend to pick up our kid from band camp. Austin to Canyon TX.
We plan to use the car as normal and DCFC as required.

Yep. It's my only car (besides my wife's car which she needs to use).

I have the big battery but the rear drive. I installed a trailer hitch so I don't worry about parking nose-in. Not going to pull a trailer with it any time soon though.

Waiting for the recall letter or the OTA update for now, because my dealer's service dept. wants to wait for the letter to be clear what to do. Think Mayberry R.F.D.

So, I'm driving it and enjoying it the way I'd drive and enjoy any other car.
So you are saying that having a hitch will help pul the car out of the garage if parked nose in? I wonder even if there was no hitch, if the car died, could I not put it into neutral to push it out?
