i don't want to start yet another HVBJB thread, there are a lot already ... but given those issues, any of you stopped doing your normal stuff, the daily commutes, the road trips?

i am seeking reassurance here!!!

I know I'm the official forum cheerleader or whatever but no, this hasn't changed anything for me.

Lots of cars fail in lots of ... interesting ways, and all kinds of things can happen.

A few years ago, I was in a one-lane construction zone on I-80 - Jersey barrier to the left, guardrail on the right - when we had to drive over road debris from an earlier semi tire blowout (we think). Took out two tires at once - and we were in the middle of a volunteer animal transport, with three dogs in the back. That was fun.

Another time I had a van driver get pissed at me and deliberately send me into a median. Also fun times.

My point in telling these stories is that things will happen and they are out of my control. This is a case of that for me.

No, I still drive it like when I got it day 1. I’m not worried nor scared. I still do WOT sprints to get on the 70 MPH highway I live by. If not for just getting on, it’s just for the joy of it. I’d like to see people's expressions but by the time they get close enough, I’m gone.

I was worried about the car being stranded in a place that would be hard to tow out of (such as a busy parking lot or garage), and being damaged by an inept tow operator like we've seen. Since applying the recall updates, I don't have to worry about that anymore so I'm back to driving and parking normally. If it fails, then I just drive it to the dealer and wait.

Still using it. I have an appointment to get the software update in before my next major road trip through, just to be on the safe side - unless I get it OTA first.

That’s the extent of my adjustments.
I’ve made a very minor concession to the “troubles.” If I’m returning home from the south, I now take a slightly different route home. The “new” route involves an absurd amount of climbing instead of an insane amount using the older route. The “newer” route is also somewhat faster although, so it’s not all due to the “troubles.”

Drive away, enjoy the car.

Yep. It's my only car (besides my wife's car which she needs to use).

I have the big battery but the rear drive. I installed a trailer hitch so I don't worry about parking nose-in. Not going to pull a trailer with it any time soon though.

Waiting for the recall letter or the OTA update for now, because my dealer's service dept. wants to wait for the letter to be clear what to do. Think Mayberry R.F.D.

So, I'm driving it and enjoying it the way I'd drive and enjoy any other car.

Don't want to jinx it, but got the update yesterday and leave for a 2,400mi road trip on Sunday so no changes here. "What if?" does sit in the back of my mind but that's not changing our plans or the way I drive.

Huh? Changes? Seriously? My Mustang Mach E is my only car. I get in it and drive without a thought (other than the lack of a remote frunk release ???)
Seriously, if people are altering their behavior, then perhaps this is not the car for them. There are many other cars available in the marketplace.

Same for us. Only car and EV life for us in the big state of Texas. We drive everyday. We have a 1000 mile road trip next weekend to pick up our kid from band camp. Austin to Canyon TX.
We plan to use the car as normal and DCFC as required.
