that is correct and same as us canceling - once the order is placed, the dealer essentially has the car allocated or to be allocated - so if its ordered and canceled, they get the car and can choose to do what they want I think.. I am not sure Ford system will show the order canceled. I am thinking if its canceled and teh car i snot produced the system should recognize and not produce but but once made and teh order is canceled the dealer keeps itI don't think what you said conflicts with what I said.
Reservation holders cannot transfer reservation to someone else. If that's allowed, the reservation holder can "sell" his/her spot, and the dealer doesn't get any benefit.
I read somewhere on this forum that dealer can forfeit your reservation/order if you don't buy in 7 days. At that point, it becomes dealer stock, and the dealer gets to profit from it.
