I installed a 240 volt 50 amp GFCI breaker dedicated line in the garage. I’ll use the 220 volt mobile charger that Ford includes with our MME’s. The little extra charge that the hard wired Ford Connect offered isn’t worth the extra cost IMHO. You can set the charging times in Sync 4.0a as well as when you’ll be leaving and how you want temperature. It just isn’t through Wi-Fi in the Ford Pass app.
I couldn't justify the $800 Ford wall charger either (and the 60A circuit), even with the 2020 30% tax credit.

But I could justify the $400 ($280 after tax credit) 40A Grizzl-E just to have a permanent charger in the garage, and leave the Ford mobile charger in the car all the time. For $280 I felt it was too good to pass up just buying it this year with tax credit.

From what I read here, it seems like a lower amp "Daily" charger, even though it's a slower charge, would be better for the battery overall for the life of the car. Is that accurate?

I installed a 240 volt 50 amp GFCI breaker dedicated line in the garage. I’ll use the 240 volt 32 amp (?) mobile charger that Ford includes with our MME’s. The little extra charge that the hard wired Ford Connect offered isn’t worth the extra cost IMHO. You can set the charging times in Sync 4.0a as well as when you’ll be leaving and how you want temperature. I'm not totally sure how the Ford Pass will work; control over the charger might be controlled indirectly through the car in that app. I think it just isn't through Wi-Fi directly to the charger. Anybody else know whether the Ford Pass would control anything with the charger indirectly through Wi-Fi to the car? I know my Wi-Fi will be paired with the car so I'm just not sure. ???‍♂
I'm with you all the way with this. That is exactly what I have installed in my new stable for virtually the same reasons. Glad I am not the only one.

If we're comparing 16A 240V to 48A 240V, then no, I don't think it will make any difference in battery longevity.

Also, I've read that there is an efficiency sweet spot for charging related to how the AC inverter is designed. So staying up near its designed max wattage is actually more efficient in terms of billed/metered power usage than charging at Level 1 (8 or 12A at 120V) speeds.

DC fast chargers ("level 3") bypass the vehicle's charger (AC inverter etc) altogether and are significantly higher wattage into the battery pack. In this case, we've been warned that regular usage of DCFC may have an impact on long term battery capacity.

Yes, I'm all set just need my car. I hired an electrician from Yelp and was very happy with pricing and quality of the job performed (got 5 quotes). I made one mistake, however, I didn't get a Building Permit so my village wouldn't inspect the final job. I called my insurance agent (State Farm) and he asked me a bunch of detailed questions about how the work was done (he was an electrician before State Farm) and came to the conclusion that I not go to the expense of hiring an independent inspector so I didn't. He said insurance would stand beside me if there ever were a fire or claim.

Happy Turkey Day to you as well! ?

Just checked my Ford account page a few minuets ago and it has been upgraded to Scheduled For Production. No date was given yet.

If you use the Microsoft Edge browser, it will show you the date. Weird.

I ordered at the beginning of November, and am trying to figure out if there is any hope of me getting this thing even in 2021. I remember reading about a 50,000 limit in the first production year. Was this supposed to be production year 2020, with more for 2021. Or is this 50,000 units the first 12 months of actual production? Obviously the dealer has no clue, and the sales manager told me that since there is a dedicated factory they can build as many as they can sell...which is obvious BS.

There is very high likelihood you get your car in 2021 based on all the info on this forum. Perhaps Summer. We have not seen any info yet that suggests production of new orders going well beyond 2021.

I ordered mine in October 2020 and many on this forum say they estimate April-June 2021. Wish it would be sooner but that’s how popular these cars are.

I’m sure Ford would have issued a press release if the 2021 production for the MachE was completely sold out. They did it for the Bronco, so the MME must still have spare capacity. I think we’re all expecting those first customer deliveries to be great and generate a ton of new demand, so it still may be tough to get by next year, but if you’ve already ordered it seems like you will get one in 2021.

And even if "sold out" (which at this point would really mean "ordered out"), who knows if they might be able to secure more parts (especially batteries, which were supposedly the main bottleneck) over the next 6 months. If there's demand, it may not be out of the question that 50k could become 60k or more.

Ford of Ventura confirmation: Order Number 10015754, CA Rt 1, Infinite Blue, USA (CA), 6/29/2020. A note: The General Manager and Sales Manager at this dealer both have confirmed orders for Premiums (Premii?).
So, I was looking to update my order, but I couldn't find it in the list, so just submitted it again for inclusion using the form. My estimated build week is Dec 14, and I have a VIN. This is a great Forum!

I ordered last year in November, but it looks like they screwed it up and then changed it to an in-store order in June.
