Update on my order
Just updating the thread on my order status.... good progress!!

ordered 2/20/2021
estimated build week was 7/4/2021
actual build start was 7/12/2021
Build status = COMPLETE as of 7/28/2021
estimated dealer delivery is 8/31/2021 to 9/6/2021

(Star White Premium ER AWD)
Updating for the curious -- I talked to Ford on the phone (800-334-4375) to get a verbal confirmation of my order. They say mine is on hold for a chip but they are maintaining the estimated delivery date. In the back of my mind I'm treating this date like the guys in The Money Pit saying the house renovation will be done in 2 weeks (spoiler: it takes much longer).

I'm trying to understand the information I'm finding on my order - where did your "actual build start" and "Build status = COMPLETE" dates come from? Is this on the Ford->Your orders page, or somewhere else?

I've been using the forum tracker and the seg.fyi pages - both show a "Production date" of 2021-08-19. Is this only the date when production started, not when it was completed? (It's not clear to me as there is no field labeled "Completed").
Yes, that's the date the vehicle started production.

At the bottom of the seg.fyi tracker, there's a button "Show Raw Details". Click that. You'll see a "releaseDate" very near the top. That'll be filled in when the vehicle finishes production. Why does that date show in neither the seg.fyi UI nor in the forum tracker? Who knows. I think it might have been added to the service response after those two were originally developed. Ford's tracker, on the other hand, displays this date below "built". Ironically, as far as I know, Ford's tracker never shows the actual "shipmentDate" that is in the response, and that the two home-brew trackers do display. These two dates are typically close to each other anyway (sometimes even the same day), but they can be days or even weeks apart, so being able to see both does provide value.

Thanks for the clarification - that all makes sense now. Both also show an ETA End Date of 2021-10-05. Clearly this is a Ford calculated estimate and may not take into consideration availability of chips to complete the build - is that a valid assumption?

Just added my order. Build started on 8/24. No estimated delivery date. Judging by other comments I'm thinking late October.

It's hard to say what criteria they use to calculate the ETA. In some cases the originally assigned date seems to try to account for any known delay, while in others it clearly doesn't. And sometimes it's just a generic "safe" placeholder. And when the date gets reassigned (if it does), especially when that happens upon the vehicle finally completing assembly, it tends to be more accurate. But not always, unfortunately.

Okay - I'm not as close as I thought to taking delivery, but I'm farther along the process than I was. Again, thanks for the info and insights.
