Just received a survey asking me how likely I’d be to purchase another BEV. After I answered the survey, they presented the results. Keep in mind, this was a survey of current owners. According to the results presented 47% of the respondents said they’d be very unlikely to purchase another BEV!
This survey went out to Ford Credit customers. It wasn't asking if you would purchase ANOTHER BEV, But just asking how likely you would consider a BEV on your next purchase. The breakdown of users on this survey is mostly going to be ICE customers.

Oh definitely. I realize I wasn't very clear in my post in that I kind of mentioned two things that I had an issue with this poll without much transition between them. I take issue with the 47% in general, because this type of poll isn't very good at capturing a wide range of responses. A lot of people just ignore it, unless you're in the really love it or really hate it camp so it doesn't really reflect the overall opinion of EV drivers because it misses so many.

My second issue is that without the meta data, there's little to explain what the results mean - why do those 47% not want another EV.

Oh, well, this changes things and makes MORE sense if true

I would definitely purchase another BEV. With being said, I would never go without an ICE for the next few years. I currently use the Hybrid (with an ICE) as a daily driver along with one to use for long trips. I would guess in around 5 years my anxiety will go substantially down but with todays conditions, I would be nervous to take the MME across State lines for a longer trip.

Now will it by another Ford product, I would hedge my bets as no. I will look across the spectrum of brands but my guess is it will land on another product. I am not brand loyal to any brand and there are many options to choose from and in 3-4 years (when I plan on trading the MME in) I will be looking across the pond so to speak for more options. Never say never but Ford best get their act together real soon before I would even entertain another Ford product. Label me as unimpressed to date. I can see where some would go on record of never buying another one.

Ahh I had misunderstood this. If its all Ford Credit customers it changes things from an expected results standpoint quite a lot.

I don't think a majority of people in the US have ever in any poll indicated that they would consider a BEV.

If you ask current BEV customers the question, its a retention answer
If you ask non BEV customers its a conquest question.

These are rather different.

It doesn't go to ALL Ford credit customers. But they invite Ford credit customers to this focus group.

They used to have a breakdown of the makeup of the group and what vehicles they have but that is no longer there.

While I'd very likely buy another BEV I don't think I can fully convert to BEVs with current battery ranges, I need an ICE in case of an emergency long drive.

I believe this. Before I owned my Mach-E, I told everyone to consider an EV. Now I tell everyone to wait as long as possible and there's absolutely no way that I'm getting my wife an EV. She'll be sticking with ICE or hybrid. Also, I might just buy myself another ICE sports car.

I like my MME GT but it's too expensive to have so many little problems and so many (infrastructure) shortcomings.
I don't know what's up with wives and EVs (going by posts in this forum, it seems that they're incapable of figuring things out?), but my girlfriend has driven by herself long distances in the Mach-E without issues. If she has an issue, a phone call to me fixes things up in a couple minutes. Maybe that will change once I've put a ring on it? ?

Also, if you're hoping expensive cars don't have many "little problems".... I'm sure most luxury German car owners would like to have a word ?

1. Don't do it. No rings. Just walk away now and save your sanity. jk... maybe

2. Yeah, this is definitely the nicest and most feature rich car that I've ever owned. I'm used to bare bones Subaru's.

The current state of infotainment and engineering bugs combined with the declining availability of the CCS charging network are two compelling reasons not to buy another CCS BEV.

Until the Supercharger network is fully available to us, the sensible choice would be to buy a Tesla if you want a more hassle-free experience, especially driving on trips. I don't like Tesla, but their engineering, charging, and software is far superior to Ford and most other BEV companies.

Buying another Ford BEV is going to be a hard sell though unless I see that a lot of quality and reliability improvements have been made to the software and charging experience. Right now it's just adequate, and still generates a lot of daily frustrations due to poor programming. The abysmal dealer experience is also a good reason to never buy a Ford again.

Best thing I could hear is if Farley was going to hire 200 software and test engineers to find and fix any software bugs, improve usability, and expand connected features. And if they offered a way for every Ford customer to easily report a software bug with a form on Ford's website. Fixing all the bugs with FordPass, SYNC, OTAs, vehicle module software, and the online purchase experience would be tremendous.

I’d like to know of that 47% how many simply wouldn’t buy another BEV from Ford vs. at all.
