I bought one. I don't have lifts to install, but I took it to a local shop and then did it for me and changed my lugs to new titanium ones. Charged me $130 for both, took an hour for both. Love not sounding like a dump truck. I love the silence.

I want it to play the Star Wars Imperial March.

My previous car was a white Honda Clarity. Which the fans called the storm trooper edition. I would’ve paid money to get the imperial March sound for the back up sound.

Are some louder than others? I didn't even realize it made a backup sound until I read on the forums. With the window open I can hear it, but it's not that loud. My family, who usually waits while I back out of the garage due to tight space, never mentioned it at all.

I wonder, mine was super loud. I felt bad pulling out at 545am cuz of my neighbors. It is super loud. I never have the windows down. Plus at work it was sorta embarrassing since it's a tight parking structure and I have to do a 3 point turn (or more) to get outta my spot. While all the 50+ teslas just back out and don't draw attention.

I can!! Although not much gravel in San Diego....I just love the silence.....Plus now it won't humiliate me when I am a bad parker and have to make a 32pt turn.

I barely ever notice mine too. I was once walking through a parking lot and I heard the back-up chime. My first thought was that my car was behind me so my dog couldn’t be backing up (the sound was in front of me). There was another MME pulling out of its parking space. ??

Mine is very quiet. Remember, it doesn’t have to be loud because it’s not competing with all the banging and clanging of an ICE ?
It just has to be loud enough to perform its safety function - alert people around the car that there is a moving vehicle (in reverse) ?

The rear speaker is not the one that generates noise for the reverse or forward motion warnings. As @Miav8r said, it’s up front. ??

Stupid me didn't bother to read the install instructions. Now i have to take it back out of the rear and put it in the front. In the mean time I opened the hatch 3 times installing it...
