My neighbor across the street has an Audi E-Tron. It has NO backup beeper. It makes the starship kind of sound when backing up but it's the same exact sound made when going forward under 20 mph. So, it would seem, the beeping noise isn't really necessary.

then that's quite odd that rear is useless.

Maybe someone who's good at program can program a ras pie to intercept the signal. just an idea as i'm not a programer, but have speaker cables go into a rasp pi. then back out to speaker. If we can tap into a signal, say reverse lights, or something like that, then rasp pie play sound file, instead of the beeping noise.

anyone good with programing and ras pies, chime in please.

It sounds like this:

I can't stand the Toyota backup sound. Especially when someone is bad at parking and does it repeatedly. It is so loud in person and, to me, sounds obnoxious, even compared to our beep.

It doesn't play in Park.

You can actually pull the fuse or disconnect the Pedestrian ALert Control Module (PACM) and disable the IPC warning with forscan. Unfortunately, pulling the fuse requires removing the frunk and disconnecting the PACM requires removing the trim from the left rear trunk area. Both procedures are irritating. Prevents water intrusion into the speaker harness or purchasing anything extra (if you have forscan and the adapter for programming). I won't tell you how, but youtube has the procedure for the Powerboost F150... I didn't do it on mine besides to test. I see value in it being enabled.

I work crazy hospital hours, coming and going in all sorts of midnight hours. Our garage is directly under the bedrooms and I cringe every time I have to pull in or out.

I love it. Not sure I will buy it but I do like options. Too bad someone has not come up with somethign that creates a different noise. Even better yet, have it programmable. Allows you to use a sound bite. I cannot stop laughing at the noises the minions make and would have the minion making the alarm noise in the bull horn as my back-up noise.
