There is a reason my "Adding a Physical Liftgate Interior Power Switch" thread has had 131,412 views. I think people especially if they have had a Ford before, are used to a physical switch for the liftgate/trunk. If I had to guess, I've probably installed this switch in at least 25 Mach-E's.

Best functional mod I've done, along with enabling kick-to-open in Forscan. I use both of these features daily. Now the waiting game for this Sync update begins...

I find the unhappiness with the phone select button kinda amusing. To be fair it’s not something i ever thought about wanting.

However, despite not thinking about it I am pretty happy about it. The number of times I ever remember to open the hatch or frunk before i get out of the car (regardless of having a physical switch in previous cars) is so in frequent. I do however often switch phones with my partner for various reasons. I guess i’m the use case i didn’t even know existed.

Truthfully, I must open my hatch so infrequently compared to people here cause it comes up like a couple times a month at most usually just for costco trips. It’s a bit fascinating to me if i’m honest. Im all for the option of having a dock like UI you can choose what quick actions you would like though.

Well, considering you supposedly started a sync update thread about an update very few of the roughly 200,000 mach-e’s sold have received to date, and considering how fast it went off rails, even for this forum, thats not particularly surprising is it?

No, you can't add a physical switch for the frunk like you can for the liftgate. It is not controlled by the BCM like the liftgate is. It is a completely different system and if you were to connect the inside frunk release switch to a switch inside the car, you would find you can open the frunk at anytime even if the car is in Drive.

If so, I’m going to consider whether to turn updates off as there’s little else in the of interest to me. (Island, no Superchargers, fairly few other chargers, No NEVI chargers)

Yes, it shows up with just 1 phone attached to the car. It's really not a big deal, to me, though. The button is just there and is one that I am very unlikely to ever use.

To suggest a reason to let the update come through: Improved wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. If you've never had a problem with that connection, then all good.

OK. My wife’s EV6 has both a charge door button and a tail gate door button. And they both work when the car is shut off!

Thanks. Considering the last iOS update or 4 really messed with my formerly oddly reliable PAAK (It’s actually quite significantly worse than at car launch atm), I probably should get the update.
